Not getting into the political side of this, although it IS there. Just gonna say that the crowd seems to be booing because someone they don't care for him just rambling on and on, not because of the content. If they were touring Mexico and running this gimmick, you would get legit heat. I think there's a chance he would be killed doing this gimmick while touring in Mexico.

We're going to have a heavyweight title match where the wrestler's lackeys are more over than they are. Zeb vs. Ricardo should just fight for the belt. So f***ing true... And this is WWE we're talking about, they're about as subtle as a train wreck. If the character gets heat, they're going to play it up even more. If it doesn't get heat, they'll play it up out of desperation. Look what they did with Muhammad Hassan, he was one of the most interesting heels I have ever seen, and in no time they kill it by making him a terrorist. If we didn't have TV PG right now, I wouldn't put it past WWE to have Swagger and Zeb attend a Klan meeting, with Del Rio crashing it.

Not a fan of socio-political angles, too close to reality for me, especially this one. I hope they don't go the gang wars route or anywhere near it for this angle, because I can see a bit with Zeb and Jack on the border with Mexico making some comments.
The one way this could work is if turns out that Zeb and Jack are really talking about Canadians and Canada.
Swerve.

I hope they don't go the gang wars route. I'm getting visions of a Jack Swagger/New Jack feud.

I really dig his new themesong so why not let him have a run. Its a themesong you will pop for when you hear it again someday. However, the thing is that Swagger isn't really that good. While decent in the ring, hes terrible on the mic. Maybe having Zeb as mouthpiece will work wonders for him. Him looking like a douche doesn't really help much though.

Vince doesn't know any other type of pandering than blatant pandering, so I guess this is supposed to be him throwing a bone to :
1. The Mexican market (building up Del Rio), which has had flagging numbers lately. 2. The 18-30 year olds in the audience (trying to show that he understands the way they feel on some level), which he's been driving away with the constant Cena focus.

Where's it go after Del Rio though? He'll lose and fade into the midcard unfortunately.

I know they're trying to not go too crazy, but I think he should be over the top racist. Some of these people may agree with him, and the way he's phrasing things don't make him sound crazy enough. He, much like JBL, specifically pointing out Illegals. Hell I remember JBL clearly saying a couple times that He didn't hate Mexicans only the illegal ones (also something about the French people are okay but the government pissed him off). I think there's a lot of Legal immigrants and Latino-americans who anti-illegal immigration. If he wants heat, he's gotta go super bigot. IMMIGRATION IS SOMETHING WE NEED TO FIX!!! = boo? I HATE PEOPLE OF ALL RACES = BOOO!!! (And even if I agree people are going to kick my ass, so I'll keep my mouth shut) See I'd like them to a different way. Focus on the illegal aspect and give Swagger a black or Mexican sidekick who feels the same way he does. It would be something different than having it as two ranting, paranoid, anti-immigrant redneck stereotypes. If say Xavier Woods debuted in his USA gear and cut a promo saying he agrees with Swagger; it would add a bit more depth to the gimmick imo.

Where's it go after Del Rio though? Well I initially thought they were trying to play off the Tea Party Movement (since the Don't Tread Flag is a symbol of said movement) so I'm sure they can find some things for them to do.

I'd laugh sooo hard if it turned out they were talking about real, actual aliens... invading our country, with faces not like ours. SWERVE! They could even set up a feud with Brodus, what with him being from Planet Funk, and all. Maybe turn R-Truth to their side after convincing him of the alien threat.

In the end, all this is going to lead to is people noticing Swagger's terrible hairstyle, three weeks of a "GET A HAIRCUT" chant, and a stupid t-shirt based around Swagger's crappy hair.

I'm actually thinking they may've changed his last name from Coulter to Colter because people (and Vince) kept incorrectly spelling Colter.
It is a take off of the LLUSA angle with RJ Brewer (which is a take off of Jane Brewer from Arizona, I think he's supposed to be a son or nephew or some relation). The difference though is, I think RJ was more of an angry protestor then one of those crazy survivalists, and I think that's why WWE has peaked my interest.
When they did the youtube video, I was floored with how awesome it was, and someone in WWE seems to be watching youtube videos or at least keeping up with some people commenting on politics. Zeb and Jack had a nice camera though, granted Jack is a WWE superstar, so they shouldn't have some piece of crap camera.
The biggest potential downsides are the crowd thinking it's dumb, or them going to some parts of the country where Zeb and Jack get over as babyfaces. That would probably be a PR nightmare. I think because these characters exist, and you have the whole survivalist/right wing militant/crazy conspiracy theorist type of people, it makes for a potentially excellent angle.

This is what I'm afraid will end up killing the angle before Wrestlemania even gets here. I would be happily surprised if this character was able to get any boos at all when WWE is in my area.

I hope the gimmick doesn't get canned because some folks get too easily offended and fail to see the difference between reality and fiction... It's a good gimmick. There are people like that in real life so it works. I'd actually like the trend to continue and WWE debut a guy who supports Westborough Baptist Church. He would be a heat magnet... and would be a good storyline for a gay wrestler to come in (Not ridiculously, over-the-top, flamboyant gay... but just a big asskicker who happens to be gay) and just pound him

Exactly. Zeb is supposed to be one of those deranged fringe types that blame their own faltering imbecilic missteps and misfortunes on a phantom boogeyman. He's not supposed to be right. He's supposed to be a crazy, paranoid xenophobe. There is an element of truth to some of the things these paranoid xenophobes say, however. A look through various crime statistics, and unemployment/welfare rates will back this up. Politically incorrect? Absolutely. Factually correct? Absolutely.

I don't think they'd care to get into the religious aspects of it. I'd prefer it to be kept to just Swagger and Zeb, but if someone had to join them I'd be more interested to see a heartless businessman, wearing suits and talking about how lazy poor people are.
