I found a very succinct plot synopsis for this week's episode.

Some GREAT scenes tonight, almost all of them involving a Lannister. Jamie's scene in the bath was just brilliant and the end with the other 3 talking was great as well. Even if you haven't read the books (like me), you can kind of guess where all of this is headed.

Even if you haven't read the books (like me), you can kind of guess where all of this is headed. When you think about it, the Lannisters are the family with the most high quality, complex characters. Sure the other families all have one or two really interesting/good characters, but the Lannisters by and large have this market on lock down. Jaime and Tyrion lead the pack, obviously, but Cersei, Tywin, and Joffrey are all pretty great, too. I'm not speaking of the books, though, I haven't even read them, I'm just talking about how the characters are on the show.

Jaime's pretty much the only reason to read the 4th book, none of the other books are carried that much by one character. Joffrey's a much more interesting character in the show, in the book he's about as cliche'd "stupid evil" as a character can be. a lot of that is because of Jack Gleason's acting. Cersei's also less 3-dimensional in the books, largely because she doesn't get much character development at all. Tywin's pretty much the same but you don't get to see as much of him, and when he does show up it's usually to be an abusive douche.

Watching the repeat of the new one since I missed the premiere. And all I have to say is, that dude has a fire sword, that is so damn unfair.

Well screw that........I will side with the guy who can actually bring me back from the dead, give me fire swords, and summon shadow demons.

That's three fantastic episodes in a row. And I definitely agree about the Lannisters being the most interesting family, both in the books and on the show. **Do Not Read If You Haven't Read The Books** {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I hadn't really thought anout how not having Ser Barristan on the small council, would change what transpires with Dany and Ser Jorah. Because now Ser Barristan, would have no way of knowing that Ser Jorah was originally sent to spy on, and maybe even kill Dany. I wonder how the writers will handle Jorah's 2nd exile.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I think he does know. I remember Barristan was in the background when Robert ordered the assassination. I see it playing out that he's trying to give Jorah the honorable way out but reveals the truth when Jorah tries to kick him out of the Queen's Circle.

Very good episode. The only bad part was the scene beyond the wall. The "romance" between Jon Snow and Ygritte is terrible and isn't helped by the most miscast man in anything that is Kit Harington.

Ygritte remains my least favorite character in the series. At least her damn catchphrase is limited in the show.

This episode was a load of arse. Really.
Jaime and Brienne in the bath was an amazing scene, as was the closing scene with probably the least popular marriage ideas of all time. Can't believe we're already halfway through the season.

Man, I love that classic Joffrey catchphrase.
