own both, outside of the bluray capapbility i'd say they're very similar.
but:
with the 360 you get a headset so you can throw insults back when they are thrown at you, bluetooth head sets are a pain in the arse to set up on a ps3.
psn has better options on games to download, but takes an absolute age to do so.
xbox live is overpriced and doesnt give much other than online multiplayer, playstation + is excellent for free games on a monthly basis.
kinect is better than move by a country mile.

PS3, mainly for the Blu-Ray and PSPlus.

Gotta go with PS3 here. Free online play, better, less cluttered UI, not having to pay for the use of Netflix when you already have to pay for it, easily swappable hard drive, and uses Blu-Ray discs which are awesome when kids are in the house. Xbox does have a nicer controller though and the Slim model looks visually better than PS3 Slim's "George Foreman" design.

PS3 I feel is better due to it's exclusives and Blu Ray.
However I use my 360 more, Mainly due to it being easier to find the games in the bargain sections......Seriously.

Notice how most of the post are pro-Ps3, but the poll is almost even.

Notice how most of the post are pro-Ps3, but the poll is almost even. I think it's because us 360 fans don't have much of an argument. We know the PS3 is technically better in most areas, but damn it, 360 is what we went for and it's what we love. Though at least we have Skyrim DLC.

On the topic of Move vs. Kinect. They both have strengths.
Kinect is great at everything it does that ISN'T video game related(unless it is a dance game). Kinect control games, again dance games aside, almost universally suck. There is the odd game that doesn't suck and isn't a dancing game, but mostly they suck. But Kinect is a great way to handle the 360's UI and multimedia apps.
Move, however, is just a better Wii-mote, and is pretty great for games.
Rarely have I seen a Move game bashed for their controls. It has almost always been for bad game design if anything. But never the controls.

Sony was all about options from the start, they let you go about so many things in so many ways. What with headsets to HDDs.

They released a free XMB theme builder and now anyone can make XMB themes. I've even made a few XMB themes myself.

I couldn't pick "neither", so I went with PS3. I came to that decision because it's at least a blu-ray player and I've 'only' had to send it in for repair once (though the way the fan sounds, that may change soon). With the 360, I've red-ringed twice. Another option not given is Nintendo, which is my choice of the three. I can at least rest easy when I get one of their products and not have to worry about it going out at any time. I've gone through multiple Gamecubes in the previous hardware gen and have never even once considered buying a Wii as a result. Those things were even more notorious than 360s as far as having random disc-read errors that left games unplayable. Nintendo is not immune to crappy hardware construction by any stretch.

Odd because my gamecube is still kicking after 11 years and I never had a problem with disc read errors with my wii either.

Extra odd as Gamecubes and Wiis are pretty much lauded as the systems that almost never had problems.

I got rid of mine a while ago when I got my wii... but I had it for years and never had a problem... my buddy still has his Gamecube hooked up and it hasn't failed on him either.

They have been dropped out of buildings and still worked. Which is kind of awesome that some nut job had the idea to try it.

I believe in the specifications they stated that they built it to withstand something like a five story drop.
