so I got around to watching WrestleCon, and it was a very entertaining show. If you don't like deathmatches, Kusai/Masada is not for you. and most complaints I've seen about the show are from people who don't like deathmatches, but otherwise it was good. I'm not a Joe Gacy fan, but he put on a good show against Matt Tremont, including breaking out a springboard moonsault.
Other news from the weekend.
1. The Final two teams for WSU's Queen and King of the Ring Tournament are Ezavel Suena/Latin Dragon and Athena/AR Fox. 2.Ron Mathis will be in a fans bring the weapons match at Best of the Best against a mystery opponent as he tries to earn a roster spot on CZW. 3.Chiva Kid was "The Artist Formerly Known as Chiva Kid" Andrew Evert, and PWPonderings made a good description of what he looks like; a mixture between Adam Cole and Jacob Hammermeier

First round matches for BOTB. 3 man matches again
Bracket 1 Alex Colon vs Shane Strickland vs Rich Swann
Bracket 2 Caleb Konley vs Biff Busick vs Jon Gresham
Bracket 3 Shane Hollister vs Alex Reynolds vs Tommy End
Bracket 4 AR Fox vs Uhaa Nation vs "The Artist Formerly Known as Chiva Kidd" Andrew Everett
Some interesting matchups, I'm predicting the tournament to shake out like this...
Semi Finals Shane Strickland (getting a push) vs Biff Busick (DJ LOVES him)
Shane Hollister (another guy getting a bit of a push) vs AR Fox
Finals Shane Strickland vs AR Fox
Winner AR Fox

Bracket 4 is op.
I was think Fox would win this but now I see him losing for some reason. Also who's the guy facing DJ?

Bracket 4 is op. I was think Fox would win this but now I see him losing for some reason. Also who's the guy facing DJ? Is Ron Mathis facing DJ? According to the ippv, DJ just said that Mathis had to prove he bled black and yellow and would be in a FBTW match, and if he survived they'd put him in TOD. He just better be ready cause he never knows who he'll face (named himself, Masada, and Matt Tremont as a few possibilities) I don't really know a lot about Mathis, but a few months ago, he and Joe Gacy were somewhat working together to try and get on DJ Hyde's good side and become his new chosen ones, and even fought New Jack and Matt Tremont with Tremont's CZW future on the line. Mathis kind of disappeared then and Gacy was teamed up with Christina Von Eerie, who just wanted to hook up with Masada (OT, congrats to them on getting engaged)

Nevermind, just saw that Michael Dante is fighting DJ in a Strong Style Challenge. Dante is Tommy End's tag partner in the Sumerian Death Squad. He's fairly entertaining. He and End are considered the top tag team in Europe. I'm guessing they were just booking Dante since End is in BOTB so they're booking him as well.
Anyways, here's my full review on WrestleCON
Aerial Assault-Fun little match, and everybody got a few spots in and showed off some skills, but this was the AR Fox show. His highlight was doing 3 suicide dives and then a flip over the ropes. Lucky 13 had one trip up, but otherwise looked fairly good. Shane Hollister gave Chiva Kid a fisherman buster onto the Aerial Assault Box which looked brutal. A bit quicker than you'd have thought, but fun spots. I also had to laugh when Chiva Kid unmasked and some lady shouted out "Why were you hiding that under a mask?!?" and Chiva immediately started to grind his hips.
Joe Gacy vs Matt Tremont- Tremont is not as over at WrestleCON as he is with the Vorhees/Philly crowd. Gacy had a nice little showing, and it's really the first time I've ever really thought that Gacy could go further than Tremont. Gacy won when Tremont passed out in a Boston Crab. Tremont continuously screamy GACY after the match was somewhat funny.
The Front vs the Campaign- Honestly, was too hard to follow. It was a FAlls Count anywhere match and pretty much none of the action took place in the ring. Can't really say much about it. Biff Busick gave Gulak a nice looking half nelson suplex off the top rope. Campaign won with the GuLock on Sozio.
BLK OUT vs The Catalyst- Crap ending with the BLK OUT winning the tag titles with a belt shot to Dustin Rayz. Match was okay. Nothing overly special. BLK OUT said they'd defend the title against the winner of OI4K/Sumerian Deathsquad. JEEZ then said he was gonna find a white girl to degrade and started trashing talking an old lady
Greg Excellent vs Colt Cabana- Hilarious match. Spots included Excellent trying to take his straps down and Colt putting them back up, both trying to kip up, and a Claw War when both had put their hands down their trunks. Colt also made out with Excellent's Mom. Excellent won with the Owen/Bret finish at Wrestlemania 10. Colt left the ring in a huff and refused to talk to Excellent cause he was a Cockblock.
Drake vs Danny- Commentary was really good this match explaining why they were having issues. Danny stapled a BOTB flyer and a dollar bill to Drake's face, and in return Drake stapled Danny's tongue to the turnbuckle. Drake also gave Danny a piledriver through a table. Match was thrown out when Drake went nuts attacking Lucky 13. Lucky was drunk and threw beer in Drake's face, since Drake has sobered up he lost his shit. A lot of fun spots, and Danny showed some good wrestling moves against Drake. Drake did bleed, but the match was not as hard hitting as he and Sami had been in PWG. Fun match but shit ending
OI4K vs Sumerian Death Squad- OI4K won and unsurprisingly will now go back into their feud with the BLK OUT. Still a match worth checking out and is very fun Nice contrast in styles though from the 2 teams. Still a fun match. Tommy End looks like a tatted up mixture of Jon Moxley and Chuck Taylor. OI4K also now have foam hands. The Sumerian Deathsquad has some interesting double team moves including a Russian Leg Sweep from End onto Dante's knees, they also had a move where they threw Jake into the corner and Dante hit a spear into the corner running on the ring apron while End hit a flying clothesline at the same time. If you've never seen these guys wrestle, they are really worth checking out. Sometimes it's also easy to forget how fun it is to wath OI4K/Irish Airborne as they pulled out some fun double moves as well such as Jake jumping off Dave's back into a running knee. OI4K won with a double stomp/tombstone combo. Really good match. Hopefully the Sumerian Deathsquad return sometime to CZW.
Sami Callihan vs Brian Kendrick- match started with a "Spanky's gonna kill you" chant which Sammi got a kick out of. Match was just okay. Timing was a bit off, but it was enjoyable either way. Spanky hit a Sliced Bread on the apron which was cool. Sammi won with the Stretch Muffler. DJ came out and told Sammi he knew his secret, and dared Sammi to tell everybody, but Sammi just left the ring (WWE contract?)
Masada vs Jun Kusai- Yeesh talk about brutal. Kusai bleed buckets as he got dropped toehold onto the Gussette Plates. But man these 2 just destroyed each other and brawled all over the place. Christina Von Eerie helped Masada win, and made out with him after the match. Kusai closed the show with the fans chanting for him and he kept rolling in the shards of glass. Finish was bothed as Kusai had so much blood on him, Masada couldn't hold onto him for a powerbomb. If you like deathmatches, you'll love this, if you don't you'll probably hate it.
DJ also announced TOD was moved up to the beginning of June as CZW will be apart of the 2nd House of Hardcore Show.
Overall it was a fun show, and it was a very good show to introduce new fans to the product. I know I sound like a broken record, but if you don't like deathmatch stuff, you will not have a high opinion of the main event, but the show is still a good time. The VOD is available online for $10 and it's well worth the price.
In my opinion... Best Match- OI4K vs Sumerian Death Squad- Just a fun tag match where everybody looked good
Worst Match- The Front vs The Campaign-Couldn't tell what was going on half the time, and really outside of Gulak the rest of the people in the match are either not really known (The Front who wrestles mostly for Beyond Wrestling and only Biff Busick has really been booked anywhere else as he's in the Wrestling Is promotions) or have been made to look like jokes (Alexander James, and Kimber Lee though they're making her look better now as she's started wrestling more in WSU) so the fans really weren't into the match.

Oh ok I thought the name sounded familiar. I'm undecided on if I should order tickets in advance or just get them there. It's a predicament

Show was good. Pretty happy Colon beat Fox. Chiva Kid and Tommy End were very good. They should def be booked more if possible.

I really enjoyed the show. Konley was the one guy who IMO didn't overly impress, but there really wasn't a bad match. Dante/Hyde was kind of meh, but it wasn't anything to complain about.
I know a lot of people won't like the ending to Fox/Colon, but Colon deserves a big win, has improved so much, and it fits his character.
Sami/Cole was the best match IMO, but Fox/Uhaa/Chiva was fun and Reynolds/Hollister/End had some really cool spots.

Alex Colon winning makes a lot of sense. He's been on the brink of breaking out for a while and this BOTB win just might be the thing to get him there.

Tracy Smothers? random as hell, is he doing a seminar or something too?

I think it's a favor to Tommy Dreamer. Since Tommy is now part of the CZW office, House of Hardcore is considered a sister promotion for CZW and I'm pretty sure Smothers is a part of it. He may do a seminar, but he's booked to wrestle.
