So, let's say for whatever reason, the TNA brain trust get together and decide to bring back the six sided ring.
After having the traditional ring for a while, how would you feel about this move? Would you absolutely love it, would you hate it, or would you not care that much?
Personally, I'd hate it. While I look back at old video and can appreciate the ring, I don't feel bringing it back would be wise. To me, it'd really make them look unprofessional, especially with them taking the show on the road.

It has a place on certain shows, and it aids in selling a gimmick sometimes, but otherwise, it just came off as too much of a novelty.
It has more than a place in lucha-libre, but I just didn't feel it as a proper part of the American 'rasslin canon.

The issue isn't the ring. The issue is building the audience with a solid product.

I liked the 6 sided ring,
but on the list of problems TNA has/and has had, the shape of the ring was always really low on the priority list.

I don't understand why THAT was the first priority of the Hogan/Bischoff regime. However considering their second priority was hooking all the Hogan all stars tour up with jobs... I hated the six-sided ring at first, but it really grew on me and became one of the trademarks of what made TNA different. Even when they were pushing WWF/WCW/ECW has beens back then it at least felt different because they were in an environment we hadn't seen them in before.

I hated it. It looks too small, especially when they did tag matches and tried to cut the ring in half.

I liked the 6-sided ring. I'm not sure how it made them look not professional. If anything it made them look less like WWE which is a good thing. In a market where one company dominates - it's in your best interest to do all you can to differentiate yourself from them.
my personal preference about Hogan aside - he's forever linked with WWE. Hardy too. I understand the merchandising value of having them on screen, but it really hinders your ability to set your brand apart from the dominating competition.

the Six Sided Ring is the King of Aces and Eights ruling over President Bully Ray

The 6 Sided Ring hooked me into TNA, which helped hook me into Lucha Libre. So, I welcome the return of the Six Sides if it ever happened. The cage and Ultimate X always looked best with six sides. Besides, things like "Our ring has six sides, but only one Angle" and "Six Sides of Steel" were always cool phrases to me growing up. Can't try to be that unique with the traditional ring.

Honestly, after hearing about how hard the ring is on the body, I wouldn't be a fan of the decision.

I heard the ropes were a lot tighter because of the size but not much else. I remember AJ Styles saying in an interview that taking bumps in the six-sided ring was really painful and rough on the body. If that's true, I really can't endorse the six-sided ring being brought back permanently.

Somewhat miss it, not to the extent I'm going to whine about it at every chance so mostly irrelevant to me. I will never grasp what was so horrible about it that so many people on the internet make such a big deal about how 4 sides is the only possible way they can enjoy wrestling. And as was noted above, I just wish they would stop scrubbing clean everything that makes them an actual upstart alternative product, an issue that goes far beyond the replacement of their trademark ring.

Absolutely true. This has been one of TNA management's unresolved issues from day 1: Should we strive to be different from WWF, or should we try to imitate the things they do? It's as if they gets together and talk themselves into being unique and different, but then chicken out at the least little drop in ratings or attendance, and revert to being WWF Lite.
Very frustrating. I was disappointed when the 6-sided ring was dropped, and the way it was dropped. It just reeked of Hogan's inability/unwillingness to look toward the future, instead of insisting on recreating the things that worked for him personally in the past.
