They might seriously be the worst Link to the Past players that I've ever seen. I can't even begin to count the shit they've missed. So inefficient...

WHY ARE THEY SO BAD AT ZELDA!? They just beat the 2nd Dark World dungeon and they don't have the Magic Powder, Ice Rod, any of the Medallions; they haven't upgraded their shield when they were in the location to do so and they only have one bottle! They also passed up the change to get the Ocarina in this episode. What are they doing? Are they trying some type of challenge or something? They can't be this clueless about a classic game like this.

When Jon and Arin aren't doing funny stuff, Game Grumps can be excruciating to watch.

Who cares if they're bad at the games they play? Honestly, I think it's part of the fun to see them struggle and frankly, I think the main draw is them just dicking around and shooting the shit, it's about playing, not playing well. If I want to see someone play well, there are countless walkthroughs and speedruns available everywhere else.

I'm not the most familiar with the game, so watching them go through it, it looks to me like they know what they're doing (at least with the most important stuff). However, sometimes it gets excruciating to see them miss obvious stuff. Sonic '06 is the biggest example of this. They'll walk past the obvious help symbols telling them what to do, and then moments later complain because they have no idea what to do.

I'm the same, I didn't have a SNES meaning I've never played Link to the Past beyond what I played while over at friends one day when I was like 7. So honestly I've no idea this is being played 'wrong' and just enjoying it like any old Grumps vid. As for Sonic '06, yeah at times that got really frustrating though I've noticed in the more recent ones they've started to realise the help icons are there for a reason. Case in point the end of the last video posted above.

Another one of those episodes where Arin complains about modern video games. I respect his opinions, but all he ever does to prove his point is make strawmen and generalizes. It's tiring to listen to.

Man, I don't usually mind he rants, but he was spewing pure, unadulterated shite right there.

If that's how Arin feels, his gaming library must be pretty damn small. He really lost me when he basically lumped a game like Skyrim in with shooters. I mean...what?
