I didn't mind it.

I quite enjoy the film, and find it a nice little throwback to the 80s fantasy films like Return to Oz, etc. I can forgive it for the five-second dance at the end.

I thought it was okay, even though the 3D was awful.

I just thought it was boring and seemed like it was tyring to hard to be weird.

Burton is hit-and-miss for me. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory left me flat. Thought Alice was alright, Burton's brand of weirdness worked for it.

I thought it suffered from "Hey look, it's quirky and weird!"
I know the story is quirky and weird anyway, but it felt like they tried WAY to hard to make it over the top.

I think it's the opposite. If you don't want a quirky, weird story you shouldn't be watching Alice in Wonderland in the first place. If anything it was too drab and not zany enough, what with their hunky Mad Hatter and many more scenes taking place in the real world or with regular human characters compared to other film versions of the book. It was kind of interesting that they did that though, I don't think any other movie versions set the scene of what Alice's everyday life is like as much.

It was average, I liked the take on the Cheshire Cat, but the film was sort of bleh overall.

I've noticed it's the movie that turned people against Johnny Depp. Like, they didn't realize he mostly plays zany characters until this film.
