Someone must be a really big Ellen DeGeneres fan to do something like that. I am too. But in all honesty, would you know who the tattoo was if I didn't include a pic? She commented on that very tattoo on her show. It was pretty obvious that she didn't like it.

I refuse to date women who have tattoos in certain areas, although I'd rather they not have any at all. I remember I had a friend who was gorgeous who decided to get a tree branch (yes, a tree branch) tattooed coming out of the top of her left boob...it was hideous and dropped the attraction level significantly. What I love more is when people get upset when I say I won't date someone who has tattoos, as if they didn't have a choice in the matter. I've had girls reject me for far more petty things. I don't know if I've ever agreed with your opinions before, but with this one, I'm with you 100%. Tattoos and piercings are major turnoffs for me. I'm in with you fellas. One of my exes used to ask my opinion on that sort of stuff and she knew that I'm not a big fan of tattoos (I don't really care if people get them but it's not my thing and most of the time it's not hot on women) but she especially knew that I consider ear gauges just a complete turnoff. One day she asked how I'd feel if she got that done, I told her I wouldn't like it but it's her body and she said "Oh okay." That weekend she got her first plugs with the guy she was cheating on me with. Fun times.

Any tattoo on a woman. They never look good. Especially on the lower back. This, so much. I don't like them for the same reason I don't like short hair on women: you can't do anything with it. There's nothing you can do with tats except add more of them. Short hair can only be made shorter. It's like if they wear the same outfit all day, everyday, forever.

As an aspiring tattoo artist, and a dude covered in ink I feel I wanna contribute to this.
tribals, and Barbed Wire are seriously played out, but in the context of the thread they don't ALWAYS look bad. Just dated.
I will quote an artist who once tattooed my set of punisher skulls but butchered my cousin pokemon ball tattoo and our friends checkerboard nautical star tattoo. "I mean if it looks at least similar to what you brought in than it's a good tattoo"
That made me stop trying to tattoo for almost ten years, because I never ever am satisfied with "close enough" especially for a piece of art. And it blew my mind that someone would have that philosophy
His shop was run through his basement too though. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Here in PA there is no laws or license or requirements for tattooing. So of course there are jackasses who order a kit and go at it in their house, but some highly decorated professionals around here also work from home too it's cheaper. But there's at least one tattoo shop in every town I have ever been to as well.
back to topic, I have seen really bad large cat tattoos, that are clearly supposed to be tigers or cheetahs but the heads, faces were off. Also snakes aren't as easy as they seem to draw. Tinker Bell tattoos can look good but I think a lot of people go to the wrong guy, the guy who should stencil everything but doesn't.

She commented on that very tattoo on her show. It was pretty obvious that she didn't like it. Maybe that's a session pic and took other days to complete. That's what it looks like to me. It's not terrible just seems really incomplete. Needs way more shading and detail

Big Show's shoulder tattoo looks like the prime of example of a pretty bad tiger.

Big Show's shoulder tattoo looks like the prime of example of a pretty bad tiger. Yes exactly. and the fact is when you walk into most shops and pick something like that from a wall it is hand drawn, or simple design sot it would be easy to do, so why would anyone pick it off of the wall when it looked like that? That's my grip about bad tattoos. It's not always the artists fault something looks bad. It can be the person. Here is a fun example some of you may appreciate. A guy I once knew got a replica of the tattoo from The Rocky Horror Picture show. The one on Currys arm. And the artist said that it looked bad, and wanted to change the color in some parts so it didn't look shitty. He didn't because of course he wanted the tattoo to be exactly like it is in the movie, and yeah it looks a little bad something I would be ashamed to have said I did that tattoo. You know what you're getting into with an artist. They have portfolios and such and if it's up to the person to feel comfortable being tattooed by some of this people. Tattoos are the best example of you get what you pay for.... HOWEVER I do want to say that there is an art to having an ugly tattoo. I like the DIY punk attitude and in some ways am glad I have a shitty first tattoo that needs recolored badly because I am into the look. So yeah some of those "bad" tattoos can look like that intentionally.

Someone must be a really big Ellen DeGeneres fan to do something like that. Anyway, I had a discussion about this with a female co-worker recently. She has tattoos herself, but tattoos with some sentimental value. Like she has one that has to do with her son and one that has to do with her late mother. I see no problem with tattoos of that nature, but I did mention to her that there are tattoos that people get that might be regrettable in the long run. I still remember my dad's friend pointing a girl who had tattoos on her back and he said that it would look good when she is 60 years old. That's the stock answer from unoriginal people who are against tattoos. If you don't like 'em, fine, just say you don't like 'em and we're fine. But when they say "It will look bad when you're sixty!" it's totally idiotic. You know why? Because we will all look really bad when we are sixty! Unless you're Paul Newman or Sophia Loren we will age into wrinkly, saggy prune people regardless of what we do.

I can't even keep the same signature here for too long. I couldn't imagine having something on me for life. But I have no issue with people who want to get them.

I think tattoos can be attractive, but I am one of the few people who think Lita's green arm tattoo is cool, so maybe my taste is suspect.

I don't have a single tattoo on me simply because I don't want one. I don't have anything against anybody having tattoos.

Dude, this is why you need to keep going, so these people don't go to one of those idiots. All my tattoos, they're by friends who were artists first because I know they have the talent and the perfectionism needed for this stuff.

Five pointed stars. As much as I used to love Angelina Love, her tats are pathetic and horrible.

I personally don't have any, mainly due to being indecisive over what I want on my body for a lifetime. But my wife has two, and I paid for both of 'em. (I drew the design for one of them. ) I don't have any grudges against them. Only tattoos I've seen that don't look good are obviously done by discount or home-dwelling artists, so they just look like you drew on yourself with a permanent marker using your non-dominant hand. (So, don't hate from afar. Ask them where they got it done, and make a pact with yourself to never go there.) Although I will say that getting a person's face on you is not the best way to show your appreciation, as most of them look like your favorite celebrity or family member after a bout of the flu. Keep a picture as a reminder, glue a sleeve or something to your arm instead and slide the picture in.
