But Kofi said he brought the title back to America. No he didn't, he said he brought the title back home, home could be anywhere from Japan, to Africa, to Triforia, hell, even to Aquatar.

Well considering he's announced from Ghana West Africa and damn near everyone thinks he's from Jamaica thanks to his first few years in WWE, they failed miserably.

Kofi is like Del Rio.
Born in another country but made in America.

They kept building up the Cesaro story about no American beating him for the title. They kept pointing that out. Then Kofi said he brought the title home. So I think it is quite obvious what they wanted us to think.
The people also popped after he said it. If he didn't mean America then he should have said so. Unless next week they'll have him come out and attack America.

They mentioned at the beginning of the match, Cesaro has said no American will ever beat him for the title but he's not wrestling an American.

They mentioned at the beginning of the match, Cesaro has said no American will ever beat him for the title but he's not wrestling an American. Then JBL and Cole talked about how Kofi prety much grew up in America and went to college in Boston. It was such a spoiler for Kofi winning the title, there was no reason to go into that if Kofi wasn't gonna win in an upset. I can't decide who got screwed over more by not having a match at 'Mania, Kofi or Cesaro. I guess the horrible yodel gimmick and the title loss outside of a PPV match gives Antonio the edge.

I know they announce that Kofi's from Ghana originally, but they don't tend to really portray him as being a foreigner since the Jamaican gimmick was dropped right? Whereas with Justin Gabriel there are references aplenty to growing up in South Africa.
Considering Cesaro's started yodelling (next week he's announced as hailing from the land of chocolate) I'm almost impressed they resisted the temptation to dust off the old Saba Simba gear for Kofi at some point.

Now I wanna see these two reenact that scene from Return of The King:
Cesaro: Fool! No American can destroy me!!!!
Kofi: *rips off Patriot mask*. I AM NO AMERICAN!!!!

This is the problem with the triple threat WHC title match- the Kofi title win needs Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter calling him out and demanding to see Kofi's birth certificate and that he's not a REAL American, so he shouldn't be US Champion in the worst way. (Moreso if Kofi keeps saying "Uh...I'm from Ghana. Never hid it..."

I think more people not from the US should win the belt.
Have Primo win it off of Kofi. Have Barrett drop the IC title and win it off of Primo. Then have Sheamus win it off of Barrett. And so on.

The seriousness vs. the sarcasm in this thread is why I love this place.
Also, is anyone else hoping for a Kofi heel turn and a foreign alliance with Clau...er Cesaro?

Kofi's US title win went down almost exactly like his last IC title reign, out of breath promo and all.
It would have been a nice opportunity for that rumored heel turn.

If you're a face, whatever country you're from becomes an honorary part of the US for the duration of your facehood.
