I get a very mixed opinion on this...Im talking about the movies that Jim Carrey's most known for...We've got
Ace Ventura Pet Detective/When Nature Calls The Mask Dumb & Dumber The Cable Guy Liar Liar
( I threw The Cable Guy in there because I actually enjoy the movie in a dark comedy sort of way...although it's completely different to the rest of his early movies)
These movies are still a nostalgic treat to me...and after watching them I find myself doing Jim Carrey impersonations/mannerisms all week (Something that a lot of people I knew did in hight school) however i've heard some people say they used to love these movies but the comedy is dated now and not that funny...I disagree and would like to know peoples opinion?
Are Jim Carreys movies dated now or do you still find them funny?

I still love the first Ace Ventura movie.
Dude dancing his lame dance while Cannibal Corpse is playing never gets old.

Dumb and Dumber is still the best comedy film I've ever seen.
And I enjoyed The Cable Guy for what it was.

To ask if they are still funny is to insinuate that they once were.

Anybody who says the films have lost their value overtime was obviously not a fan of those movies to begin with. They were either funny or they weren't to people. I don't see them as starting funny then becoming dated.

What, no Batman Forever?

Ha I keep debating whether Batman Forever counts as a Jim Carrey comedy...on one hand he's doing his usual Jim Carrey routines and mannerisms...but it's supposed to be a superhero movie....

Let's put it this way...they're just as funny now as they were when they were released.

Cable Guy and Dumb and Dumber are the only ones that even remotely hold up. And Man On The Moon, which was actually underrated when it came out.

I don't see them as starting funny then becoming dated. It has happened to me before but it was because I saw said comedy movie as a kid where I was easily amused a long long time ago and when I watch it again for the first time in years as a adult it isn't funny. It happens

Dumb and Dumber will always be a classic.
I still like Liar Liar, but I've heard that a lot of people never liked it.

Screwball physical humor is timeless when done right. Ace Ventura/Dumb and Dumber prove it!

Are Jim Carreys movies dated now or do you still find them funny? I think it is a little from column A a little from column B. I enjoy them, but I showed The Mask to my nephew and he just didn't get it.
