Raiders agreed to terms with DB Charles Woodson, formerly of the Packers, on a one-year, $1.8 million contract.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent Charles Woodson is "intrigued" by the idea of finishing his career in Oakland. He'd rather go back to Oakland than come to Denver? Sorry Broncos fans, some people actually want to finish their career in the place that got him recognized the most. Not everyone can be completely charmed by the power of Manning.

Yes I know he started in Oak but lets not paint this as anything other than it is.

See the word RETIRED? I know he wasn't playing there. He got cut and said he wanted to be with a contender to end his career, he got three offers 2 from contenders worth the league minimum and another from a bottom feeder for up to $4.3 million. Guess which he took? He went for money. Good on him for it but don't paint this as some grand "Coming home" bullshit when it's obviously not.

Maybe he decided it was better to come home than play for a contender. But to be fair, the money doesn't hurt.

Hey, more power to the guy. I'd almost call it admirable if it weren't foolish.
But that's just my opinion. Maybe I'd feel different if Oakland's strongest player wasn't their kicker.

I don't understand why someone would retire instead of taking less money to be a mentor. I don't care how proud he is, he should have known that no one was gonna pay him starter money before this even started.

@bfeldmancbs RT @mollyqerim USA Today reporting that Michael Crabtree tore his achilles in OTAs Tuesday. Oh shit. Ouch. That must suck for players to get hurt, well, at all, but especially in things that don't matter like OTA's or pre-season games. That'd royally suck.

So Urlacher and Lewis both eligible in 5 years for the Hall, which gets in and which gets snubbed? Remember, they can only be judged for their in the field work, nothing off it.

Depending on who else is in that class, I think it might be a situation like this year with Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden where they both get in.

Ray is definitely going in first ballot. I've never been a big Urlacher fan but I can see him going in as well, or having to wait. Good player but he never won anything and he was hurt a lot.
