So I guess that confirms Coulson's death was faked then?

Dumb to have super powered characters that aren't already characters in the comics. not like there is some shortage to choose from.

Why should the comic book writers be the only people allowed to create new characters? If we followed this logic, we would've never gotten characters like Harley Quinn, Chloe Sullivan, X-23, Firestar, Agent Coulson himself, hell we can trace this all the way back to Jimmy Olson on the Superman Radio show in the 40's.

This was the perfect format to introduce viewers to a lot of the lesser known Marvel characters on a weekly basis, and their first act is to use a guy who looks like and seemingly has the abilities of Luke Cage, and... it isn't Luke Cage. This show is already comprised of a bunch of fake S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, they don't need to start throwing in fake superheroes too. That just smacks of someone writing fanfiction set in the Marvel Universe. Give us Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Blade, Punisher, Cloak & Dagger, Mockingbird, the New Warriors, the list goes on and on. Just keep phoney baloney characters out of it.

Doesn't mean they're out of the question, though. We'll definitely see those guys down the line as the series continues.

For sure, but it seems unwise not to use one of those types of characters right out the gate. It sets a much more exciting tone for the series.
