I'm a little surprised considering I would have thought they'd debut Ultron in the now infamous Ant Man movie. I don't really know much about the event in question, or much about Ultron at all. But I'm hoping it stacks up to the first one.

if Ant-man does show up in this (I REALLY hope so) good. I love Edgar Wright but he's basically holding the character hostage at this point, and it's all because he threw a hissy-fit when they told him he had to use Hank Pym instead of Eric O'Grady.

If I had to guess, Ultron will probably be SHIELD's imitation of the Destroyer Armor or something.

I'm really hoping they don't try to adapt the age of ultron series... because very little seemed to actually happen during it.

Joss Whedon just confirmed the title at SDCC. It is Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Sweet! So that means Ant-Man HAS to be in the film. Or at least Hank Pym has to be in, cause, well how in the bluest of blue hells do you do Ultron without Pym considering Pym is, was, and probably always will be the reason Ultron exists in the first place?! Well, they recently turned Iron Man's arch-nemesis into an drunken character actor so anything's possible.

Also.....Thanos is just for the GotG then?
Or Thanos is Avengers 3, with someone from the GotG showing up at the end of this to warn?
I'm very excited.

I reckon Thanos will be in 3, and will also loom somehow over in GotG. Ultron in 2 is a good idea. He's a classic Avengers foe, so it's more fitting than Thanos to get him in the franchse sooner. And to be fair, anyone who followed Thanos would be a steep step down just by comparison. Although this does effectively kill my hopes for a proper Avengers vs. Masters of Evil movie face-off in 3....

No, I'm sure I was right, it was Lang. His original idea was to do an old Pym, with Lang stealing the suit, essentially doing an adaptation of Lang's first outing as Ant Man, but with a much older Hank. The film would feature flashbacks set in the 60s of Pym being Ant Man as well. But Marvel vetoed that, and it's been in developmental hell ever since. I cant remember anyone associated with Marvel Studies ever mentioning O'Grady, although if they did do that, they need to get the extra from Avengers who was playing Galaga and make him O'Grady.

They just liked the sound of the name. It's a shame really, cos people will not buy the trade of Age of Ultron and be put off comics forever

I mean, I really hope people don't buy the book because it shares a title with the movie, because if that were my first comic book I'd probably be turned off the medium forever. it'd behoove Marvel to promote something that actually deserves it and might actually convert some new fans instead of probably the single biggest turd Bendis ever shat out. of course, this is Marvel, the kings of hyperbole. they'll never admit something they published recently was shit. they just wait about 15 years until the main writers and EIC are all different before slinging mud at past works (just ask Rob Liefeld).

Not to mention in one of their animated features (The Next Avengers) said that Tony Stark built Ultron... despite Hank being in that... sorta... Also I looked it up apparently the Ant-man movie is now set to come out in November 2015... so maybe this is how they compromise with Wright... Hank is in Avengers 2 and Lang steals the gear in the beginning of the Ant-man movie.

I think Ultron has some fun possibilities. We saw in the first film and its tie one that SHIELD is trying to create weapons based on alien technology, so now with the introduction of Ant Man we have a plausible explanation for him. I also think he has good dramatic potential; They played up Loki's rivalry with his brother to help humanize him, I coection they am do the same regarding Ultron's daddy issues toward Hank Pym-"This is what you created me for father!"

nah they need to get Thanos as the bad guy in the third movie so they can build up the anticipation like crazy... and then reveal it's just John Goodman being hired to act out some goofy space invader. the real bad guy will be the nebish loser corporate head played by Brandon Routh. Then at the end of the movie Bruce Banner will be randomly cured of the Hulk, removing his entire reason for being. Yeah, Iron Man 3 was a disapointment to me.

Apparently Joss Whedon did a live interview with Marvel.com and revealed two things... 1. This is not based on the miniseries. 2. Hank Pym will not be involved in the creation of Ultron. Comic Book Resources
