My favorite version of Pym was when he was Yellowjacket. Doesn't matter much to the discussion at hand, just saying.
The reason for that is one of my earliest comic books was a Marvel Team-up with Spidey/YJ/Wasp vs Equinox. So Equinox, who has only appeared a handful of times has always had a soft spot for me too.
I like a lot of ancillary characters like that. For Marvel, one of my favorites is Puma For DC I always dug the 90's version of The Ray.

Other than the obvious. Have they said which Avengers will be used in the sequel? We know it'll be Stark, Bruce, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Will the general public be receptive to the team that doesn't have Captain America or Thor? Given if they're not in the sequel.
I was just curious because I was reading the cast list and so far they only have Downey and Ruffalo listed, as well as confirming that Widow and Hawkeye are returning which confirms Johansen's and Renner's involvement as well. I guess it's all depending on how A Dark World and Winter Soldier ends too.

I think it's almost a certainty that Cap and Thor will show up for Avengers 2.

Yeah, I'd be very surprised if Cap wasn't involved.
Depending on Dark World I could MAYBE see Thor not involved... but I would think he's probably in too.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they excluded them. Maybe I could see them pulling the revolving cast trick in later movies, but right now the property is still new in terms of a movie franchise.
Though I do think a lack of Capt and Thor would likely help, screen time wise. While Whedon was pretty good at juggling the cast last time, adding two more Avengers to the mix seems a little troublesome. Especially if they intend on explaining their origins somewhat, Ultron's too and giving Hawkeye more of a meaty role than last time.

Wasn't there rumors of Evans and Hemsworth being unhappy with the amount of money they would recieve for being in Avengers 2? At the very least he should've had a cameo as a person attending that conference of scientists in Iron Man 3. Would've at least told us how smart he was. That would've been ideal too. Either way I hope Whedon is just trolling and intends on including him. It will feel very wrong to have Ultron and not have Pym in the picture. If they went with the route of Stark being the sole creator of Ultron I will literally shake my head in disgust. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said this in an interview with Empire online:

If at the end we find out Ultron came about because of Pym messing with Jarvis for some reason, I would be cool.

on top of Iron Man making Ultron, in this movie Thor will give Jane Foster a massive bitchslap. and Hawkeye will change his name to Goliath, and then Ronin, and then go back to being Hawkeye. and Captain America will ditch his suit and just go around as Steve Rogers.

Gentlemen, we have our Ultron.
EXCLUSIVE: 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Casts James Spader as the Film's Legendary Villain
James Spader will face off against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the villain in Marvel’s "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the sequel to 2012’s record-breaking "Marvel’s The Avengers." The Emmy Award-winning actor will play Ultron in the Avengers’ much anticipated return to the big screen from writer/director Joss Whedon. The film comes to theaters on May 1, 2015.
Spader earned three Emmy Awards for his role as Alan Shore on "Boston Legal" and "The Practice," and will return to television this fall in NBC’s highly anticipated series "The Blacklist." Most recently Spader was seen in the critically-acclaimed film "Lincoln" directed by Steven Spielberg and has previously worked with a long list of accomplished film directors including David Cronenberg, Curtis Hansen, Sidney Lumet, Mike Nichols, Tim Robbins, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Soderbergh, and Oliver Stone. David Mamet also directed Spader in the Broadway play Race.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will bring the Marvel Universe’s biggest heroes together again to face one of their biggest villains, with "Marvel’s The Avengers" director Joss Whedon returning to write and direct the sequel. "Marvel’s The Avengers" was released in 2012 and went on to earn $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the third-largest grossing movie of all time.

I'll be honest I am kind of glad they changed his outfit for the film, because his purple Robin Hood get up with the mask and everything is, imo, stupid looking. Like REALLY stupid looking. The first time I ever saw Hawkeye I had to resist bursting out in laughter at his outfit. I'm not saying he needed his 616 costume, but what he got was just as crap for being so bland and forgetable. Much like the character as a whole in the movies I agree with this. I understand why they would want to change his costume for the movies, but the character we got wasn't really Hawkeye, he was just some dude with a bow and arrow. He didn't even look like a superhero. In my opinion they might as well leave him out altogether if that's the best they can do.
