Well, we have to wait a bit for Korean Zombie to come back. Chan Sung Jung strained his injured shoulder and is out of the Sweden fight against Akira Corassani.
Kelvin Gastelum will face Jake Ellenberger at UFC 180. Diego Sanchez has also been announced as part of the event.

The main event of UFC 177 is cancelled after Renan Barao passed out while cutting weights before the official weight-in. Barao was taken to the hospital and feels fine but he won't fight TJ Dillashaw for the title tomorrow night.

That is crazy. Dillashaw will still defend the title though. Joe Soto, former Bellator 145 champ is stepping in on 24 hours notice.

Man that card suuuucks.
I was torn whether or not to order because I wanted to see the rematch live, that solves that for me!

Wow this has be the most shitty main card on a PPV that the UFC given us in such a long time but at least they were able to find a replacement for Barão.
But it does beg the question on whether the UFC has learned their lesson about not having shithouse PPV events being stretched so thin that main event is the only fight that people want to watch. Because I do wonder if TJ turned down the fight would the event be canceled?

Hopefully Barao is okay.
UFC 177 is just an example of everything that is wrong with the UFC. First, cutting weight is becoming a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Barao didn't deserve an immediate rematch in the first place and it was only Dana's raging hard-on for him that got him this fight. Lastly, this was already an awful card and it's going to be more so. Too many injuries. Too many additional shows on Fox and FS1 is causing the PPV cards to absolutely suck. I'm not planning on watching another UFC card until the Velasquez/Werdum fight and if that one gets canceled (which seems to be happening constantly in the UFC), I won't be watching that one either.

Well the weight cutting issue is another interesting point as a fight between Scott Jorgensen and Henry Cejudo (another UFC 177 main card UFC fight) had to be nixed because Cejudo got ill due a bad weight cut. As least Dana has said that Barão won't be getting a title shot after this.

Watching the Dana White scrum and seems like he wanted to make Lombard vs. Woodley for the November Australia card. Woodley wanted no part of the fight claiming he didn't want to fight his ATT teammate. Lombard texted Dana begging him to make the fight because he wants to beat Woodley's ass calling him "two faced" Woodley still refused the fight so Dana's gonna look for another fight for Lombard. Woodley seems to have a strong case of the limber tail to quote JR.

True, but I honestly feel that it's a very underrated card on paper. Too bad it may do worse buys that 174 did.

Looks like Lorenz Larkin has been giving a extra lifeline in the UFC as he will be dropping down to welterweight.
The guy is now like some sort of reverse Rumble.

Just watched the Countdown for Mousasi vs Jacare. It was good, it was weird seeing Anderson Silva there, pretending that he wasn't feeling awkward by his friend Jacare being a top contender for the belt. Mousasi looked like a beast against Munoz, his sweeps were awesome, I'm picking him to beat Jacare by decision.

I'm crazy enough to pick Ben Rothwell to upset Overeem.

I'm crazy enough to pick Ben Rothwell to upset Overeem. I dunno, I think Overeem's probably gonna win it. Rothwell's good, but Overeem's just a genetic freak. And I'm pulling for Moussasi in the Jacare bout. I dunno, I've just never really been a fan of Souza's. Partially because he's got a weird-ass shaped head.

I'm crazy enough to pick Ben Rothwell to upset Overeem. Rothwell might be one big tough bastard but the only way I see a upset happening is if Overeem gets all cocky and reckless like he did against both Bigfoot and Browne which then allows Rothwell hit him a big punch. If not most likely Rothwell will be on the receiving end of a very one sided beating.

I think Overeem wins, but if he plays it too safe, he's gonna stay relegated to the free cards, he has to send a message to be relevant again. I would like to see one day before I die JDS vs Overeem
