John Cena is now three months into his current WWE Title reign, and so far has defended his belt just twice, against Ryback both times. Some have said (and I personally believe) that this is Cena's last run with the championship. He is 36 years old, been on the active roster for 11 years and is currently a 13x World Champion. So the question is, how long will his current reign last?
Do you believe that this will be his last reign with the belt and thus hold it for a long period of time, or will he lose it before the year is up to a new talent? Keep in mind he defends the belt at MITB against Mark Henry.

Has Cena ever lost the belt on a non-PPV? Would be interesting if it happened right out of the blue on an episode of Raw.

Had it stripped due to injure on an episode of ECW but never lost it on a RAW, SD or other special that I can remember. For the topic at hand, I'm thinking Royal Rumble so he can be free to face Taker or Lesnar at Mania, though I'd love for him to hold it and face Punk at Mania.

Bruno Sammartino's legendary reign was 2803 days.
If John Cena holds the title consecutively until December 10, 2020, he will have held it for 2804 days.
That's a Thursday. But Smackdown tapes on Tuesday, so technically if he loses it SmackDown...
I'm saying he'll lose it at whatever PPV is scheduled for December 13th, 2020.
I think that's covered under 'Other'.

Survivor Series at the latest. He's not getting a longer title reign than Punk's. He already had a long run with the title, the last few times he had it didn't last as long. Neither is this one.

If I had it my way, he'd retire with the belt and just vacate the title. But realistically, he probably drops it by the fall.

I throw in another vote for December 2020 or never losing the title, ever.
He also won't ever retire.
Hall of Fame as Champion. Wrestlemania 40 as champion. WWE will name him Champion Emeritus, and no champion will be called the WWE Champion in his absence. Only the "interim". And when Cena does decide he wants to come back, Cena will be renamed Champion with no decision match.

He'll at least defend it against the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX where he will end the streak. After that then at least long enough to surpass Punk's reign, but exactly when he loses it is too far in the future to accurately predict. The WHC will change numerous times in that time to compensate. I throw in another vote for December 2020 or never losing the title, ever. He also won't ever retire. Hall of Fame as Champion. And when Cena does decide he wants to come back, Cena will be renamed Champion with no decision match. Also at some stage the concept of the WWE Champion will be re-named the WWE Cena to mark his achievements - so we'll see matches where the Interim WWE Cena defends the WWE Cenaship against the number one contender who is trying to become the new Interim WWE Cena. It has been written, and nothing can change this inevitability.

MITB. He'll beat Mark Henry and then Daniel Bryan will cash in on Cena after Henry Beats him down. Then Cena beats Bryan for the title at SummerSlam in 16.5 seconds due to Bryan pumping up the crowd with yes chants. He turns around and gets hit with an A.A

I hope MITB. Then he wins it back at summerslam, rematch at next ppv. Cena wins and then feuds with Bryan until rumble or whatever

I can see them keeping it on him long enough to challenge punks reign, against punk.

I'm thinking before the year is over. I this current title reign is his last hurrah before he becomes a "legend".
