I really want to be excited for RVD, guy was one of my favourites back in the day. If he shows up to Money In The Bank motivated and brings it, fair play to him. But if we get him on cruise control reeling of an uninspired RVD greatest hits collection like he's been doing since 2006, no thanks.

I'll say it, all the hype videos have made me psyched for his return.

I saw him at what I think was his last indie show before coming back. He fought Dreamer in a hardcore match and it was definitely match of the night. He didn't seem "unmotivated" at all.

He even had his moments in TNA. He definitely wasn't at his best, and didn't seem interested which led to sloppiness. But it really wasn't all bad, especially before they stripped him of the title because they used too many of his dates too quickly. RVD's one of the best combinations of "big name" and "can still go" in wrestling right now, even if he's not as good as he was. WWE's style is slow anyway, he'll fit right in.

WWE.COM: Do you think there’s a misconception with certain fans about how you left the company?
VAN DAM: Absolutely. There’s more ignorance out there than there is knowledge. Many fans think I was fired. Other fans think I hurt my leg. Fans don’t always know, but they think they know.

The irony is that if we get the RVD greatest hits package it might still be enough to win Raw Match of the Week honors in weeks when there isn't a quality Bryan or Punk match.
I read the top 8 reasons on there as well. They mentioned the win over Cena as being the win that made him an unquestioned main eventer, to which I say "What??" To me that win was a gold watch of sorts and not any serious attempt to make RVD a main eventer, at least not on the main shows.

Reading the interview, boy is RVD up his own ass. Dude thinks he's tougher, more interesting, smarter, and cooler than everyone, oh and that he's AGELESS. He really thinks he's the greatest thing ever, no wonder he hasn't changed anything in two decades. Makes me a little less excited for his return, I forgot about his cockiness, which he disguises as enlightenment.

Does anybody else thin RVD isn't coming back the conquering hero face but more likely the cocky heel Paul Heyman guy. Maybe stepping in the middle of the Punk/Heyman Bromance,Brock's stand in when Brock doesn't feel like working?

Always been an RVD fan so it's cool that he's coming back.

"It’s funny to me that certain fans and critics think I always have to continue to outdo myself to still be original, but the fact is, my arsenal is still original."
Well, this explains a lot.

Not that I disagree, but isn't he supposed to be hyping himself up right before his big return? He's not going to say he's over the hill and coming back for a quick buck.

It's not the "I'm better than ever" sentiment that bothers me, that's fine. It's the statements like "I'm just so different from normal people", and "I don't have this, like, age thing that people have". I really don't want to go back and read again to give more examples, but I went from 'should be a cool interview' to 'ugh what a douche' around page 4. It goes beyond hyping himself and goes into smugness. He actually comes off a lot like CM Punk.

If he comes off as egotistical in that interview, then color me surprised. That's always been part of the RVD shtick.

I never got the "unmotivated" tag he got. He's less athletic and he's slower than he used to be, but isn't the fact that he's in his 40s a plausible explanation for that? He does the same stuff in every match, but that's been the case for 15+ years now.

What are the odds that this interview was done after 20 past 4?
