ECW has zero relevance anymore. So therefore, TNA would just jump on it.

ECW guys are getting older or more dysfunctional, and the upside of this concept is dwindling. Awesome is dead, Dreamer is semi-retired, Douglas and Justin Credible are home being family men, Balls Mahoney is supposedly a meth addict now, Sandman isn't paying his child support, Stevie Richards is a crazy person, Raven is pretty broken down, health wise, Sabu is busy looking like Ben Kingsley and not making tables break the first time, and Rhino is in Rind of Honor. Who would they even bring in that doesn't work for them already?

No as ECW has been dead for 12 years now and has been flogged beyond dead by promoters wanting to make a fast buck off nostalgia.
That and having a ECW reunion where can even use the bloody ECW name really just makes TNA look even more bush league.

I never liked when TNA has done this. Why is a promotion having a reunion for ANOTHER FORMER promotion? TNA has two hours of television a week here in the states and then for a month they build towards a PPV that a small portion of the wrestling audience watched 15 years ago. All they are doing is trying to sell the image of what could be, but will never be again.

No they should not, Hardcore wrestling has become passe for a reason and looking at the condition of the ECW guys shows exactly why that is. On top of that, the ECW guys who have ties to TNA are generally in no shape to perform these days, or are on the outs with the company.

No, they shouldn't.
ECW's been out of business for over a decade and it should never be brought back. It's the more overplayed, overhyped company from the 90's, and mostly all of the ECW alumni are either a completely broken down mess or retired. It looks even more ridiculous when TNA can't even say ECW and they have Mike Tenay and Tazz announcing.
The "Hardcore Justice" show was beyond embarrassing and pathetic and was nothing more than trying to spite Vince McMahon. ECW's dead and needs to remain dead. It had no relevance to the Monday Night War's and it's a glorified indy company. It's over, it's done. ECW has no relevancy anymore and it doesn't have to brought back for anything.

I'd rather them do some sort of yearly Hard 10 tournament with new up and coming high risk wrestlers. If they have to do something to please the "extreme" fans every year I think that would go over better than an ECW Reunion show as those same "extreme fans" have gotten to the point where they're bored with the same old ECW Reunion show anyway and the talent who was involved when ECW was actually relevant are in no shape to be doing things on mainstream wrestling television anymore.

Your card could be the following: Team 3.D Vs Sabu and Tommy Dreamer in a Street Fight Raven Vs Sandman Shane Douglas Vs Justin Credible Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney could team up to take on Doring and Roadkill Stevie Richards could wrestle Too Cold Scorpio Blue Meanie and Nova Vs Guido and Smothers in your token comedy match of the evening Juventud Guerrera Vs Psicosis Little Guido Vs Super Crazy Have the announce team for the evening be Gertner and Taz. Special appearances by 911, Dawn Marie, Sunny, Terry Funk etc I'd pay 20 bucks for that card in 2013-2014 and I'm not even a huge ECW fan.

Do people really still want to see more Tommy Dreamer and Balls Mahoney matches at this stage in their lives? Let it go.

TNA does know that, if they push ECW reunion shows on Impact- Spike TV DOES have the opportunity to use the same loophole that ESPN Classic has used to get World Class/AWA for their shows [if you aired it originally, then you get the rights to reair it in perpetuity]- meaning if Spike wants to, they can air ECW on TNN all they want to and bypass Impact's entirely.

Watch Hardcore Justice 2010 at half speed to get the effect of doing that same style of show three years later.

Nearly every single person on this match card has NO business being in a professional wresting ring in 2013. Do you really want to see the overweight Ball Mahoney, Sandman, Shane Douglas, Axl Rotten wrestle in 2013? There's a reason why none of these guy's are signed by a major companies, because their all broken down "hacks" who were never over/never drew a dime. The best wrestler out of the whole match card is Terry Funk. He's the only, ONLY exception to everything I just said in the last paragraph.

TNA has two hours of television a week here in the states and then for a month they build towards a PPV that a small portion of the wrestling audience watched 15 years ago. All they are doing is trying to sell the image of what could be, but will never be again. A reunion show of another promotion whose trademarks are owned by your chief rival and went out of business a year before you started. Both those things make TNA look bush league and like they're regressing. The whole point of ECW was that it was the next step in wrestling's evolution and that's why they had Shane throw down the NWA Title. Because they didn't want to regress by using the heritage of the NWA as a crutch (along with I'm sure a list of business reasons as well). In fact TNA has been trying to sell itself as the next logical step in wrestling's evolution since its inception (i.e. the X-division with the tag line "It's not about weight limits, it's about no limits!"). It's kind of sad. When ECW went out of business it was like James Dean dying at 27 in a motorcycle wreck and it became known as the underappreciated ahead of its time promotion. But now it has become James Dean brought back from the dead Pet Semetary style and is now starring in romantic comedies with Sandra Bullock. Part of me wants Spike to do this. Well, not cancelling iMPACT! (it would be hypocritical of me to go on this anti-regression rant and then advocate for cancelling a current promotion's product for a defunct promotion's reruns). But I would love to see spike put ECW on TNN on late night television. Like 1 or 2 in the morning. I just miss the days of coming across wrestling on TV at hours kept by the insomniacs and the lonely. Plus the episodes are in the can so any ad money would just be pure profit. Plus it would be a way to cash in off ECW nostalgia without having hobbled wrestlers injuring themselves even further.

I'd say that doing another ECW reunion show would be Dead Horse Abuse, but that would be absurd. That dead horse has been tenderized, pulverized, mangled, and mutilated. It was then turned into glue and fed to another horse, which died from ingesting the glue, and we've moved on to beating that horse, too.
