I'm far from a fan of Taylor Swift, and yet I'm a big fan of "Safe and Sound," the song she made for The Hunger Games. Similarly, I was introduced to SR-71 through "Tomorrow," a song I happen to like fairly well. Listened to the rest of their catalog and came to find out that's the only song of theirs I like.
What one song, movie or show do you like from people who you usually don't?

There's a lot of stuff from the late 60s when it became fashionable for a brief time to try to make an experimental record (to put it in context albums like Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys and Sgt. Pepper's...by The Beatles are popular)and so I've found myself discovering songs that are way cooler than they have any right to be judging by the artists' other work. The Osmonds is a good example, actually. They made what in hindsight look like some very odd creative choices during that time that possibly left a few people scratching heads, but it certainly boosted the entertainment value of their music IMO. Tom Jones is another one, Tommy Roe, Kenny Rogers, the list is endless. I think every artist from that time has their "psychedelic" album. Which is actually pretty cool if you like that kind of music.

Manic Street Preachers "Autumnsong".
I hate Tom Cruise but he absolutely killed it in 'Collateral'.

Dolly Parton for Jolene.
Carly Simon for that James Bond song she did and "You're so Vain" hate the rest of her music.
Wheatus for Teenage Dirtbag, rest of their music sucks imo.

I can't for the life of me understand why Mötörhead is so popular but I've got to say, "The Game" is badass and I frequently listen to it even outside the context of wrestling.

I'm not even a big Motorhead fan, but can you honestly not understand why they're popular? Maybe it's a cultural thing, but it should be obvious to anyone from the United States (I know they are not from the U.S. but they play fast, catchy, simple American rock music very loudly - btw there's your explanation).

Not a huge fan of Nickelback/Chad Kroger (Although not to the extreme extent that most people have.) but I did like his collaboration with Carlos Santana from maybe a decade ago.

I really don't. Even back when they started, there were already countless bands doing what they do better than they do it.

That's...not really true. I feel weird sticking up for Motorhead so much since as I said I'm really not a big fan, but that just seems so blatantly unfair. There are lot of bands that came after Motorhead who were influenced by them, but Motorhead started the punk/metal/boogie woogie fusion that later became a successful formula for many others. Who really sounded like them when they started? And no reaching (i.e. don't say Black Sabbath who were similar on paper but played a slow, sludgy blues rock that was totally different from how Motorhead sounds), I mean REALLY sounded like them...

I really like "Paradise" by Coldplay, but cannot stand a minute of any other songs I've heard by them.

Chad did the album version of "Why Don't You and I" that was re-recorded with Alex Band for the single release. Don't know if that's what he's referring to or not, though.

I hate Lady Gaga's wacky act, music catalogue, and latching on to a movement to sell more records. But Bad Romance is pretty damn good.
