ADR's face run suffered from several problems. The turn itself - saving the Spanish announce table guys - was pretty out of nowhere. Then he suddenly changed personalities TOO much and became TOO nice a guy. The stupid Santa thing after he had already turned face didn't help. He should have tried to keep some edge to his personality.

Put Ricardo with Sin Cara.
Might just save Sin Cara's career.

Maybe it' me, but it seems like everyone's first face run with one of the two major titles for the past ten or so years is like the super smiley nice guy run. I think WWE just strips them of their personality during that first run.

I haven't seen someone get such a sustained push for as long as ADR has, without being over, since Greg Gagne. Except it's even worse since at least Gagne wasn't always at/near the top of the card. Why is ADR immune from being jobbed out in the midcard? I fear it's case of the WWE seeing our dislike of him as Del Rio doing a good job as a heel.

No. It's because despite "your" dislike for Del Rio. The wwe realizes that he is an extremely talented man.

If they think ADR is not over as a heel then having him drop Ricardo would be an understandable move.

Just make him a Mexican Batman. That sounds great, but it's Del Rio. He'd probably turn something as awesome as that boring.

Given the way del Rio is usually written, it'd probably just amount to him driving a Mexican Batmobile out every week while Cole talks about the people he saved that week between shows.

I keep saying that's it's a shame that he's never caught on for whatever reason, because he's one of the better wrestlers in the company.
And it seemed like every time he found something that could have worked, they went in another direction. The deluded People's Champion after cashing in on Punk? Gone after 2 weeks. Face run starting to catch on? Amp up the Mexican jingoism to 11 and feud with a suddenly-changed Swagger.

Alberto is just missing some indefinable quality to be interesting. He's a good wrestler, good looking, not a bad promo, etc. but nothing that he does interests me(and apparently a lot of others) at all. It really doesn't help that the E will not stop pushing this guy up near the top of the card ever. It's definitely not Ricardo's fault, he was the only reason that I had to even bother trying to watch Alberto do anything.

Guess ADR is the new Danny Doring. In fact, if you read Alberto's full name in rapid sucession, you'll say "aburrido".
