I got my picture next to a Vigo poster when I went to Rhode Island Comic Con. I like both movies, and it would be cool to have a blu ray combo pack.

The "We Hate Movies" podcast just did GBII as their 3rd anniversary show. I think they make some decent points about the disappointments amid their regular profanity laden humor.
I mean, in a little over 5 years, Dana has somehow dumped Venkman, met another man, had a child, lost the other man, and during all this time left the best position possible in her former profession to somehow become a museum curator which is a job that takes multiple years of training and schooling to pick up. It really felt like they just wanted to hit the reset button but give people something different to do to allow for extra jokes.

It really felt like they just wanted to hit the reset button but give people something different to do to allow for extra jokes. Well in fairness, it's all plausible. Venkman wasn't treating the relationship as seriously as she wanted him to as they both stated. At the time she first met him, she was already dating another guy, and she mentioned that she only took the job at the museum because she couldn't stick to a orchestra schedule due to her baby, but was thinking about going back to music. And her bathtub tried to eat her baby too.

Actually I can't help but wonder-if all Vigo needed was a body to inhabit, why did he need it to be a baby? He took over Ray at the very end for a moment, so why didn't he just take over the geeky art director guy from the get go and be done with it?

Maybe because a baby had a purity to it an adult didn't have?

Plus, you get to choose a new body to return to rule the Earth, and you pick Peter MacNicol? Really?

Have a lot of little brother angst over this one. In 1989, my brother got the Batman t-shirt...I got Ghostbusters II.

Can't go wrong with a GB2 shirt. I have one with the original logo, been meaning to get one with the GB2 version, which I've seen.

He should have told Peter MacNichol to ask Dana Barrett to work late. Then when they got her alone, Vigo should brainwash her, and instruct her to bring her baby to Vigo

With the 25th anniversary being this year (as well as the 30th for the original), I wonder if GB2 will get a decent Blu-ray edition? I hope so, this movie is so long overdue for it. On a much more down note, I heard of Harold Ramis' recent passing. R.I.P. Egon was always my favorite of the Ghostbusters.

Speaking of which, next month both movies turn 25 and 30 respectively, hard to believe. Anyone planning to watch both? if I can I'll try to watch both together on June 8th and 16th to celebrate.

He'll always be Janosz to me no matter what. Every time I see him in anything I instantly go "There's Janosz."

If I get some free time upcoming, it's not a bad way to spend an afternoon. I haven't seen either in years (mostly because I've seen them both so many times already). I've got GB1 on blu ray, but I haven't even taken it out of the plastic wrap yet. This sounds like a good occasion.
