The Esquire Network ran both films recently. I've seen them so many times that I can rattle off a good chunk of the dialogue by heart.
According to that crazy woman on Peter's show, we're less than two years away from the end of the world! (She gave a date of February 14, 2016.)
Count me in as someone who was scared of the severed-heads-on-stakes scene. I always covered my eyes or left the room whenever the movie got to that part.
I remember when Dana and Peter are eating dinner and she says "why don't you give me a jingle in the year 2000?" I was only seven or eight when I saw GB2 so that sounded so futuristic to me.

I can recite both movies pretty much word for word. I've seen both so endlessly.

I like it just a little more than the original.

Pretty surreal to think we're so close to the date given in the film.

I still have that game and haven't beaten it all these years later, so difficult. I remember always being astounded at the fact it doesn't even allow you to pause.

The sequel was not even close to being as good as the original. But was still enjoyable to watch.

Yeah, it's still a really good movie in it's own way even if arguably not up to the original's level.

News is out that this September both movies are seeing a Blu-ray release, with GB2 getting it's first release on the format. Can't wait, about time. Special features are looking light so far but at least it's a better edition of the movie, finally.

Janine became so hot in this movie, she looked like an entirely different actress.

Today, June 16th 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the film's premiere.

I didn't get time to watch either movie for the anniversary sadly, but I'll definitely see them again after I get the Blu-ray digibook with both of them. Can't wait to see them both in HD. I hope GB2 gets some additional special features added.

Looking forward to the Blurays. Haven't seen either film in many years, although I know I fit right in the norm with thinking Ghostbusters I was better than II. Still liked II, though. Vigo was such a creepy bad guy.
I remember clearly going to see Ghostbusters at the cinema when I was 7...I remember they'd put a big Ghostbusters logo high up on the wall in the parking lot, heh. And I played both of the videogames a ton.
So, yeah, going to pick these up probably with October's paycheck. Might finally buy the 2009 videogame too, that got a pretty good reception as an unofficial third film and it'd be the last chance to hear Ramis and (likely) Murray in their roles.

The video game is awesome and definitely worth playing if you're a fan. It's pretty much GB3 in video game form instead of a movie.

Interesting to see how the slime in the movie might've looked had it been green like in many of the promotional materials as well as green being the traditional slime color. I think the pink slime worked better for some reason though, guess it just has a bit of a blood-like color to it which IMO makes it look more sinister.

As much as I love GB2, it's hard to deny the climax is kinda weak. The one thing about GB2 I'd change is the showdown with Vigo. Up to that point it builds up good momentum and then Vigo goes down without a real battle. I think seeing the slime river burst inside the museum and creatures appearing out of it to assist him would've made for some great visuals, and we could've seen the Slime Blowers put to better use with the good slime dissolving the evil slime creatures and the Ghostbusters having to counter more of Vigo's powers. Maybe they ran out of time or money to film that but I think it would've worked much better.
Still love GB2, though.

Recently where I live we had a power outage that lasted a couple of hours for the night, and I rummaged through my box of old video games. Guess what Game Boy game I found to keep me occupied for the night? I forgot I even had that until I dug up my old Game Boy and saw it was inside. Very fun game and easily one of the better GB games besides the 2009 one and the Genesis version. It's a scaled down port of the New Ghostbusters II for the NES that saw release only in Europe.

Came across these stills of some deleted scenes from the film, even more excited to finally see them in a couple of months: If the scenes are in decent enough quality I wonder if maybe an extended cut could be done? I guess we'll see in a couple of months. I guarantee you that if the quality is good enough to be cleaned up, an extended fanedit will be up within a month.
