In the majority of jobs, the idea that "You should wait to have your child because we've got a big project coming up at work!" would get you a raised eyebrow at least and more than likely a worse response than that. Athletics are a little different though, imagine what it would be like if the UFC is pushing Rhonda Rousey hard and she's dominating everyone and making them a lot of money and then suddenly she is pregnant and is going to be out for at least a year and probably longer. Dana White would surely be let down, but what are you going to do? Or if there is a superstar player in the WNBA that is dominating and generating interest and suddenly she's pregnant and not able to play and the team isn't the same without her. Yes, I realize that they're not exactly the same things. I'm trying to be objective and see it from both angles. It sucks for TNA if they were planning on pushing her, but what are you going to do? It's just one of those strange quirks of life. Also in other jobs you can still continue working for a while after you're pregnant. In athletic professions you have to stop basically right away.

This was suspected over the past couple of weeks, but confirmed now... Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter Congrats. I became a fan of hers this year. Selfishly, I hate to see her out of action as I thought she was becoming a breakout performer for 2013, one of the bright spots of TNA.

Good for Taryn. Hope she keeps her job, as pregnant women tend not to stay with TNA for very long.

What about in the entertainment field? Jennifer Aniston is filming a movie right now. If she just got pregnant and left the production midway through would that be okay?

Halle Berry didn't have to leave within the athletics entertainment field she HAS to leave.

Halle Berry didn't have to leave within the athletics entertainment field she HAS to leave. But using your example someone got pregnant and filmed a movie other movies have actually had actors drop out halfway through and it made the movie better when those actors were replaced. Taryn leaving now gives ODB a chance to be knockout's champion look at the that fact

TNA's not a movie, it's a TV show. And in TV shows this happens all the time. For example, both Cobie Smulders and Allyson Hannigan became pregnant during seasons of How I Met Your Mother. They just wrote around it or took them off air for a while. Benson over on SVU went on assignment with the FBI because her actress became pregnant. Heather Morris on Glee got pregnant and took some time off. So yeah, it'd be okay. That's life.

Yeah, TV does it all the time the other trick is only shoot them from the chest up to avoid showing the baby bump. Also they use a comically large prop to cover up the actress stomach or they go on a trip for some reason when that's no longer possible. The Nanny parodied both of these when Lauren Lane was pregnant.

It's just one of those strange quirks of life. That did happen in the WNBA with Candace PArker. She was the top pick, playing in Los Angles, and the league had built they're whole marketing campaign around her. Right before the season started, she revealed she was pregnant, and ended up missing most of her rookie year. In the end, it all worked out, but this is something female athletes have to take into consideration, when they are sexual activity, whether they are using contraceptives or not. Woman athletics cannot be like Shawn Kemp or Antonio Cromartie. Pregnancy will have implications. For a wrestler though, it's even worst. Taryn was pregnant when she was in her last match, whether she knew or not. What she went through, and what that match did to her body physically, not to mention what it could have done to the fetus is why these things have to be planned and thought out.

I remember when Howard Hessman got pregnant during filming of WKRP and they worked around it by having him sit a lot.

Matt Hardy wrestled while pregnant for at least a year. Tarryn isn't hardcore enough keep up with the man who WILL NOT DIE! She should really be working through this, what a wimp. I thought she was tough after her two matches with Gail - this shatters that image.

On the flipside, though, most TV stars aren't in a position where they're going to be doing anything particularly strenuous while acting, unlike a wrestler or athlete- and TNA wrote out the easy "she gets put in a non-wrestling role" earlier this year to take out the only way it'd be possible.

Even better, sticking pinholes in Rampage's condoms. A) It'd actually give the guy a role within the company and B) It would also put a new slant on his nickname I don't get it. Which Knockout is Rampage with? He's not, I just thought it would be funny to have a guy called Rampage whose gimmick is that he gets all the knockouts pregnant - he goes on a rampage of sorts Yea, it's just my warped sense of humour.

There are a couple of solutions that can be done to avoid any future pregnancies in the Knockouts Division. They could hire post menopausal women wrestlers. They could hire men to do their job. I think Petey Williams can do Velvet's ring rope dry hump with no problems. They could have written in the Knockouts contracts that anal sex is mandatory and the only sexual position allowed. They could go all Rumpelstiltskin and claim their first born child.
From someone who used to be in the Navy, I had to deal with women getting pregnant on the job. Pregnancies in the military affects overall readiness but they know that is going to happen at some point. Some were planned, a majority wasn't. But we learned how to work around it and still use them. They may not be able to be physical like they used to be but still got something to offer. Taryn can be used as a backstage interviewer for the Knockouts. They could put her on the commentary team. I think some of the pushback she is getting is because word of her getting a Knockout title reign and her series of hardcore matches. Madison disappeared for months so her pregnancy was not seen as a big deal. Taryn was on Impact regularly so her void is noticeable. But TNA knows that a majority of women will get pregnant at some point. Dixie gave birth twice during the time TNA has been in business. And no one is going to tell her to practice birth control.
