The fan boys already losing their minds With joy, hopefully. I'm a huge Batman fan, and I think Affleck is the perfect guy to play the late-30's seasoned version of Bruce Wayne. I'm really, really looking forward to this film now. Affleck has become a tremendous talent in the past decade.

I still want to see him as the shark in Jaws though Woody has been replaced by Kevin Smith I wear flannel shirts, loves Star Wars & Batman and I would call myself a tubby bitch, so yeah I just might be Kevin Smith

What's going to help Affleck here is that he already played Daredevil, who is sort of a Batman-lite. He did this before and got to experience what he should and shouldn't do in the role. He's not coming into the role completely cold and I think that will really help.

I really liked Ben as Daredevil...I just thought the movie as a whole was kind of on the weak side. He was really good though.

I tend to prefer it when they cast less recognizable actors to play famous characters, because the more famous the actor the harder it is for me to see the character and not the actor. I sort of felt that way watching George Clooney play Batman, though that was far from the biggest issue with that film. Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern would've been tough for me to accept even if the film hadn't sucked. Affleck does sort of resemble how Bruce Wayne usually looks in the comics though, and while Christian Bale wasn't bad he didn't bring anything special to the role in my opinion. Even though he hasn't done many films I've actually wanted to see, Affleck is a good, solid actor.

I really, REALLY like this choice. Affleck's a talented actor and looks very much like Bruce Wayne to me.

My instant reaction was:
then I thought about it and looked at his photo on wikipedia and thought this could work.
I think he is too old for the role but maybe this means we'll get the Robins and Batgirls out of it.

Affleck is good but I'm having trouble imagining him as Batman. Guess I'll wait till the movies actually come out before I judge him.

One of the quotes on Twitter I wonder if he was the same person who thought Ledger was going to ruin the Joker when he first heard it.

I don't really care, but it should have been Jason Statham.
And I wish George Carlin was alive to play Alfred.
