I was hooked by the basketball scene from "The Gang Gives Back". More specifically, Charlie's blocked shot on the eight year old boy.

Oh, Danny Devito was definitely needed. Being from Jersey, he added some authenticity to the show. That, and without him, "Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom" wouldn't be the funniest thing in human history. This is a Top 3 episode for me. My favorite part is that throwaway scene where Dennis sees (from his car) Mac kissing his mom and, as he's walking away from the door, he does so with his arms spread wide open and looking up at the heavens. That scene makes me crack up more than any other scene on the show. And even though the quality has dipped since Season 5, I still love the show and it still produces the occasional gem. Although 'Frank's Brother' was an abomination of an episode.

I love watching the de-evolution of Frank Reynolds. Season two, he was a very competent man who wanted change in his life after he separated from his hoor wife. Then there he is about three or four years later in the "Frank Needs an Intervention" episode where he's gargling beer getting it all over his shirt and then later in a wifebeater tee and boxers coming down from a flight of stairs hungover admitting to dry humping Gail the Snail. It's a glorious sight to behold.
Hell, all five of them have deteriorated quite nicely.

Everyone they touch (with the exceptions of The Lawyer and Fatty McGoo) has their lives destroyed as well. Just look at Rickety Cricket and The Waitress. I suppose Artemis gets off easy, but she was already pretty depraved to start with.

I liked Rob McElhenney's concept of doing the 180-degree turn from TV characters getting more attractive as the series becomes more successful. Look no further than the "Fat Mac" season. Which reminds me, who brought the rum ham?

I'm still sad that this moves to FXX, a channel I likely won't have when it launches as it airs new episodes.
Ugh.
