THANK YOU! For years, I thought I imagined him having a different name before becoming Hugh Morrus

Kamala was an underrated big man too, he was far more athletic than many let on, the leapfrog in this match is impressive for a guy who must have been pushing 350 lbs at the time. As for Kamala II, I'm guessing he's the same Kamala II that had a run in ECW in their later years as Uganda. Always confused me as to how he was allowed to use the gimmick and name, especially as he wasn't even an improvement on the original. Reminds me of the old seaside shows we used to get here in the UK in the late 90s where you'd have rinky-dink promotions putting on WWF shows with fake Undertakers, Kanes and Steve Austins with of course the highlight being a bloke with parcel tape on his face pretending to be Mankind.

From my understanding, Ben Peacock (aka Giant Kamala 2) was given permission by Harris to use the gimmick, going back to when Peacock was brought in to, I think World Class? USWA? One of those. He went back and forth between GM2 and Botswana Beast for a bit (and possibly also Prince Kamalamala, though there's some debate if that was him or not). What's funny is he isn't the first Kamala 2.

- Randy Savage and Strike Force vs. The Honky Tonk Man and The Hart Foundation in a cage - youtu.be/50sXWB7J7WsI remember that one - such a strange combination of standard gimmick matches - six man tag elimination in a cage with escape rules. So you have to escape and actually put your team at a disadvantage in order to get closer to winning the match.

Well, he had some success under that gimmick whether it seems like an odd career choice or not. According to Cage Match he was still wrestling regularly for AJPW as recently as the mid 2000s against some pretty big names, so he was obviously well regarded there. Here he is under yet another name facing off against a pre-Razor Ramon Scott Hall in WWC in 1990. Edit: White Kamala is amazing in the worst way possible, thanks for digging up the video, what were they thinking? Haha.

I think what we can gather here is that Ben Peacock really, really liked the whole "African Savage" gimmick a lot.
