Jacques says Hogan did it out of respect for the Rougeaus for helping him early in his career. Reason says Hogan is not that much of a damn humanitarian. And Rumor, well, Rumor says Rougeau paid 30k for Hogan to job to him and went against WCW's wishes that the match not be filmed or referred to ever again by having his crew in the stands with an home camera to film the whole thing. Which seems to be consistent with the fact that the guys are CALLING THE SPOTS IN THE MATCH BEFORE THEY HAPPEN. Heh. That is just a rumor because the WCW magazine DID run an article about the event.

WAR, the Japanese promotion that ran from 1992-2006 (Jericho writes about it a bunch in his first book) once held a joint show with the WWF. Here is the card for it: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=8044

SWS had a 'working relationship' with the WWF and held several SWS/WWF cards in 1990 and 1991. Here's a couple of their bigger show cards... www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=13727&page=2www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=15940&page=2 (this is the show with the infamous John Tenta/Koji Kitao shoot)

It has also been implied that Hogan did it as a political stunt while in the midst of some sort of ongoing contract negotiations.

Finlay versus a young pre-UWF shoot legend, Masakatsu Funaki And it's a pretty good match! Welsh TV had their own wrestling and in Welsh? Great stuff, Id f***ing love if Irish language TV had their own wrestling TV show even though I cant speak much Gaelic. Seems it was called Reslo and was on the SC4 channel from 1982 until 1996, cant believe I have never heard of this before.

HHH and Perry Saturn were tag team partners & champions at one point in their careers.

It's S4C not SC4. it stands for Sianel Pedwar Cymru which means Channel 4 Wales. used to be the bane of many welsh peoples existence, Through an aerial you only got S4C which was a mix of welsh content and programmes from Channel 4, the con was the Channel 4 programming would be shown in different time slots (usually late at night) sometimes weeks after it aired in england and that was if they even bothered showing the Channel 4 program you wanted to see. It was this way up until Freeview launched and they gave Wales the normal Channel 4 whilst S4C became only welsh programmes. My local cable company used to carry both Channel 4 and S4C up until they went under in 2002. Luckily around that time I moved to near the border so I was able to pick up Channel 4. I don't think I would have coped with just S4C. I believe Orig Williams was behind the wrestling and it was called "reslo"

I think its Andre the Giant's funeral. Or at least, that's what the internet seems to think, when you do a Google search of that photo.

HHH and Perry Saturn were tag team partners & champions at one point in their careers. Their lives certainly took different paths! What I find especially interesting is that despite both being students of Kowalski and, as the picture shows, former tag champs, they never seemed to be buddies or anything. I'm guessing it has to do with how Saturn always seemed to be an oddball and wasn't particularly close to anyone.

it probably is more on saturn being weird than anything else, but its also strange hhh never even thought, like, might as well throw saturn a bone since they started out together and saturn was homeless for five years
edit: i have no idea how long saturn was actually homeless for

I don't think he reached out to people, maybe he wanted to handle it on his own.

that certainly seems valid, but you'd think at the very least you'd see the typical offer of a legend's contract or or to pay for his rehab or something. or at least make a documentary feature about his last couple years, cause they seem crazy interesting.
then again maybe they did all that and he turned it down
you're right, its probably just that saturn's weird or embarrassed (but also tough as f***, obviously)

As mentioned, Saturn and HHH were both trained by Killer Kowalski. And they both dated Chyna. Who was also trained by Killer Kowalski.

Saturn will always be one of those guys where I think he shouldn't have been world champion, but he certianly deserved more than he got.
