That was the rumor but the official story from the WWE archivist is the footage was found in the last or two on a mislabeled or poorly labeled bit of footage. It was just labeled "random omni footage" or similar. That does make a lot of sense. Hell, that happens with lost films or episodes of shows, too. Archivists have a tough job. Rumor I have been hearing about the Last battle of Atlanta for hell right at 20 years now is. "Some mega fan in the Carolinas has a copy. But he refuses to make copies for anyone or even show anyone the entire match." Supposedly, and I am hearing this third hand,WWE worked out a deal with the mega fan and bought it off him. Am I the only one that remembers in the early 90s when one of the big tape traders got a copy of the Dory Funk Jr vs Terry Funk match from Japan. And since he knew there was high demand for that match was asking $40 plus shipping for a copy of the match. I am guessing not many people back then paid that price cause it wasn't until the late 90s that I started seeing that match show up on everyone's trade list.

I remember seeing that episode as a kid. Was so happy last year when a buddy sent me a copy. Besides the late 70s NWA Amarillo TV footage DVD I got the Donahue wrestling episode TV dvd is the most popular one with the local indy guys.

I was watching some old Mid-South/UWF and was surprised to hear Jim Ross use the term "sports entertainment" a few times during promos and commentary. Just not something I would expect to hear on Bill Watts' show.

Can someone please say they saw this? It was a WCW jobber show in the early 90s. Saturday Night or Worldwide. Sting comes out to face a jobber. The jobber is a lot smaller than Sting. Jobber is ready to fight. Sting keeps playing to the crowd that he can't fight the guy because he is so much smaller than him. Sting pats the guy on the head, sits the guy on the top turnbuckle and his music plays. Sting wins for being a nice guy and refusing to fight the little jobber.
Can someone say they actually saw this take place? I have never heard it spoken of since I was 6 or 7 years old. Never been able to find someone confirm it happened.

Can anybody help me with a discovery? I'm looking around places for old wrestling results in my hometown and see one match that was interesting, yet easily forgettable to see after all these years.
From the WWF, March 3rd, 1992: Ric Flair (c) vs. Roddy Piper (c). It's billed as title for title. Does anybody know what the typical result was? Obviously nobody pinned the other to win both, so that's why I'm asking.
(And also strange I knew nothing of this happening. WCW did a better job promoting their live shows here which is why I saw quite a few of their shows and didn't go to a WWF event until WM13.)

Wait...so they were saying he was defending 'The Real World Title' (WCW Title)?!

WWF IC Champion Roddy Piper defeated WWF World Champion Ric Flair in a non-title steel cage match from Johnstown, PA - Cambria County War Memorial - March 2, 1992.

Some indy fed just booked Saraya Knight (Paige's mother) vs Eddie Kingston. Feels like that will probably get mentioned in here in a few years, throwing it in early. For obvious reasons, Saraya will no longer be in the match. It will now be Eddie Kingston vs Mercedes Martinez.

This looks like a match from that TunneyBot twitter account. It doesn't have a bizarre stipulation, like "scaffolding bloodbath w/ tasers match" or "Vickie Guerrero on a pole cage match," though....

Here is some footage (in the form of a commercial) of Jake "The Snake" Roberts' appearance on the short-lived US version of The DJ Kat Show -
I remember being really into this show for a while back when I was eight years old, but there seems to be very little footage of it online, especially with DJ's original sidekick Elizabeth Rose. Doesn't help by how easily people confuse it with the much longer running European version.

From a WWF event on Sept. 12, 1991 in Bangor, Maine Roddy Piper defeated the Undertaker in a body bag match. An extremely rare loss for the Undertaker. Especially in this type of match.

Wonder if it was something like that Undertaker was partially in the bag, lost, then got out and beat up Piper, stuffing him into a bag after the match.

Wonder if it was something like that Undertaker was partially in the bag, lost, then got out and beat up Piper, stuffing him into a bag after the match. It's a strange one off. I heard about it on the Something to Wrestle podcast so I looked up when it happened. Bruce Prichard said Piper simply beat him because they wanted the crowd to go home happy by having the good guy win in the main event.
