www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JZt-thyYmkChris Colt versus Billy Jack Haynes. Largely posting since A. Chris Colt was always fascinating to me since I first heard of him, and B. Billy Jack Haynes is just, holy shit. I knew he'd been built in his day, but this is nuts. There was tale he was terrified to get into a fight with the boys because he thought he'd accidentally kill one, and... I can buy that. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to fight a guy that ripped and that bonkers. Also, dear lord, is that canvas filthy. I think I got a staph infection just looking at it.

Gorilla Monsoon was doing commentary on these until late 1998 at the latest. He did it to at least to just after WM in 99 because I remember the other commentators acknowledged his ovation. I've been trying to find out how long up until he did commentary for before his death

Dusty Rhodes with a head scissors on Andre the Giant and using it to propel them both over the top rope.

Owen Hart vs. Raymond Rougeau in a boxing match in Montreal in 1996 - That sell by Owen is so beautiful.... And holy crap Rougeau was mark for himself. How does this help sell a house in a way that a controversial loss in an actual wrestling match wouldn't?

Bret Hart vs. Jeff Jarrett with Big Boss Man as referee. (Boss Man's final WWF appearance for several years)

Bret Hart vs. Jeff Jarrett with Big Boss Man as referee. (Boss Man's final WWF appearance for several years) Huh, I remember The Big Bossman putting over Bam Bam Bigelow at the 93 Royal Rumble then disappearing. Didn't know he was still floating around as late as December. And looking it up, it doesn't look like he was. His last show before this one was a random house show in Quebec back in March. I wonder what caused him to make this random appearance?

I wonder what caused him to make this random appearance? He was still under contract in 1993. Interesting note about Roddy Piper too. "At this point, "The Boss" (formerly Big Bossman) showed up and promptly defeated Rude in a non-title match to set up a PPV match between the two. Roddy Piper was originally talked about for the replacement role but apparently that didn't happen. Bossman was scheduled to return full-time to WWF early in 1994, and as recently as the past week had worked on WWF shows in California, so his appearance was a big surprise on the WCW taping. WWF officials who apparently have Bossman under a contract reportedly are going to attempt to take legal action preventing his jumping"

I've always heard of this but figured the video was nigh impossible to find much less see 25+ years later. Yeah, he was off TV most of 1993 (his last televised match was against Doink on a Superstars in Feb or so?) I wonder if he was ready for a WWF return at the end of the year, but then up & signed with WCW instead.... I miss the days when that kind of thing would just happen, often.

Wow, I'd forgotten that I was following the OVP Podcast on Twitter. They've been posting & RT'ing a lot of "final appearances" in recent days. Samu (which aired a few weeks after he'd left the company & was replaced by Sionne on Raw), Sensational Sherri, Martel's 1995 appearance at a Canadian house show, and Yokozuna's last match - in 1996 against the Sultan.

Randy Savage vs. Jake Roberts about a month before WM3 in a non-title match that was only seen on the international version of Wrestling Challenge as opposed to the U.S.

And just wondering has Bret or Jarrett ever said anything bout each other? I mean I was shocked to find Jake da Snake wasn't a Bret fan and I guess Owen and Jarrett were cool. So just wondering on the Bret/Jarrett relationship.

Anyone else know that Steve Austin's WWF debut was against Matt Hardy?

Wow, great find. I've always heard of this but figured the video was nigh impossible to find much less see 25+ years later Okay gots to ask, why was Boss man refing this match. He was working on coming back, they probably had him here as to gauge how to use him in his comeback maybe (plus, y'know, a cop seems like a good choice for a special ref). Perhaps they were thinking he'd work a program with Jarrett? And then something happened and he signs with WCW and it winds up coming back to the WWF 5 years later instead.
