Missed this on the show but read about it on the Torch. Interested to see it, AJ can be strong on the mic when he's got something to focus on besides men and crazy.

it's an interesting choice. maybe WWE isn't getting the demographic crossover from this show that they wanted. either that or oe of the McMahons (I think we can venture an easy guess which one) doesn't like the show and had AJ air their dirty laundry.

Looks like it's building to AJ vs. Natalya, even though Natalya lost tonight. They'll try and spin it as AJ being delusional that she wasn't on the show, but I don't think many people took it as that.

Honestly I think it's more likely that they want the audience to go "...The hell is she talking about?" *Goes to watch Total Divas out of morbid curiosity/for the sake of context*

It was great but I have no idea what its supposed to accomplish, especially considering that most are probably gonna agree with her point. I brought that point up to my wife right after. For a heel, she sure had a lot of people on her side with that promo.

I think all heel promos should at least have a bit of a grain of truth in them, or else it just comes across as incoherent ramblings.

It was a good promo, but doesn't make a whole helluva lot sense given that they're also promoting the hell out of that show as well. So either she's wrong, and the Total Divas chicks all deserve to be where they are and women's wrestling in WWE is irrelevant and such, or she's right and the show they're pimping the hell out of us a waste of time that if you're a wrestling fan you shouldn't be watching.

Yeah it was a stupid promo. Why bash their only successful endeavor outside of wrestling?
It was like"we expected the show to crash and burn, except you people actually have built up an audience week to week. Now you guys have characters when you guys didn't have one on tv. How dare we make you people entertaining. Ooh we got success outside of wrestling for once"
Stupid promo bashing the show
Froma purely business and advertising stand point. Why bury one of your hits?

I keep hearing that the people who watch the show aren't the same people who watch Raw. demographics and all that. turning it into a wrestling angle was inevitable anyway, and gives the fans who weren't watching total Divas before a reason to tune in (in theory, at least).

Sounds like a lot of WWE programming of the past few years, to be honest. It's like the company dares fans not to watch.

I think she was supposed to be wrong (I'm pretty sure they don't have any intentions of turning her soon) and have a warped logic with her secretly being jealous of them, but it came across as her cutting a "Pipebomb" promo that the crowd lapped up (given that she's probably more over than most of the roster, it's not hard to take her words in that sense).

Once Nikki gets Cena on the case AJ will realize the error of her ways.

It is a hit show though with it's own audience. Why neglect and get away from that audience when there is money to be made. Especially since the deal with universal takes away their advertisement money. As ion and e don't have those kinds of contracts with wwe. Why bury your talent who are on a successful show that you produce and market to that niche audience.

Yeah you're probably right on both counts. She was probably supposed to be the heel, but since everything she was saying was essentially correct, the crowd reacted the opposite way. That makes sense the way you put it. You'd think someone woulda realized it was gonna play out that way.

I loved it. I don't think Natalya, Naomi, Cameron or even Brie deserved it. Jojo seems like a nice girl, she hasn't wrestled but at least she has something in being a good singer as well as a suitable alternate for Lilian. But Eva Marie and Nikki did, besides it is a different angle for the women's division.
The crowd chanted with AJ, but that could be because they happened to be in a smark city, or an audience that really hates Reality TV. AJ was supposed to be a heel, she buried all of them. The faces and other heels were both angry, but I loved that the Bellas were the ones really angry while Nattie and the Funkadactlys were calm while glaring at her.
And I don't get why people have cynically convinced themselves they're putting AJ with Nikki or Brie. I think its going to be Natalya judging by the more focus she's been having. AJ is still a heel, while she's a face so that is where I see this going.

I'm pretty sure that AJ was supposed to be the heel there, insulting the "popular" Total Divas. One of them (probably Nattie) will beat her for the title, and it will be a the big season finale.
I guarantee that they did not think that she'd get cheers, but they should have expected it since AJ is probably the best promo of the Divis division by a rather large margin.

Why bury your talent who are on a successful show that you produce and market to that niche audience. not saying you're wrong, it did come off as a backhanded burial. and no, if the show is successful, which it has been thus far, they shouldn't bury it. as for an explanation, though, like I said, this is the wrestling industry. wouldn't be the first time a petty person in charge tried cutting something successful off at the knees because they personally disliked it.
