So what is worth getting on steam? Bearing in mind I own a Xbox 360. Now I have a more powerful machine. At this very moment? Grab Deus Ex Director's Cut if you didn't play it on the console. And if you're into that kind of game, of course. Hell, even if you did play it on the console, it's worth looking at for $5, since it runs infinitely better on PC.

Loadout came out it's a free to play online fps... the hook being all about customizing your own weapons I played for it a bit and it's pretty fun.

Loadout's pretty awesome. A little character diversity would be nice though

Don't Starve is 60% off for the Midweek sale. Should I get it?

So what is worth getting on steam? Bearing in mind I own a Xbox 360. Now I have a more powerful machine. How much are you looking to spend per-game/any preferred genres/single player or online co-op? Over the past year and a half I've transferred solely to PC gaming from my 360 & Wii so have a pretty stacked Steam collection so can throw up a list if you like. PS, check out www.greenmangaming.com/ for low price PC download sales every week, I picked up NBA 2k14 for £5.99 and Bioshock Infinite for £4.99 over the past few months, amongst other Steam key games. Given I rarely pick up non-independent titles it's a nice place to check out, plus there's a 20% off code right now for most digital titles, indie or non-independent.

So what is worth getting on steam? Bearing in mind I own a Xbox 360. Now I have a more powerful machine. What games do you like or already have? If you're looking for free games, go for Warframe. I play it on a daily basis, even bedridden like I am right now. I also play Dungeon Defenders now and then. Everything else I have on Steam is kind of on hiatus while I play other games from other sources (SMITE & SWTOR). Warframe is a co-op third-person shooter where you are a, I kid you not, space ninja. Loads of different 'frames (which are like different characters with different skills), mods, weapons (from twin daggers to scythes to shotguns, sniper rifles, bows, flamethrowers, rocket launchers...), and even companion pet Sentinels that have varying powers of their own. Dungeon Defenders is a co-op Action RPG/Tower Defense hybrid. There are a number of different characters with different abilities and static defenses. It's up to you to place those defenses in such a manner to defend the Eternia Crystals, while you run around shooting, stabbing, slashing, and looting. Level up, get new gear, try new challenges & difficulty settings. Dungeon Defenders is not F2P, you have to buy it, but there's subscription fee. SMITE is a MOBA that plays differently from the point-and-click varieties like League of Legends. Pretty much every shot is a skill shot that you have to aim or position yourself favorably for. It's free-to-play, but there are some restrictions (which you can lift entirely through playing.... a LOT). I bought the God Pack for $30, and I'm a cheap mother f***er. SWTOR is the Star Wars MMO. My brother-in-law plays it, so I play it once a week with him. I can't really recommend it.

What games do you like or already have? If the game is good then I don't mind spending money on it, but cheap or free are good too. Most genres I'll play Action, RPG, RTS, strategy etc ... MMOs? Multiplayer is always nice but I'd rather not have to do co-op. I have enough FPS and fighting games on the xbox so none of them if it's a highly rated game and it's on xbox 360 I'm probably not going to be interested. *Is Skyrim worth getting as I already have it on xbox 360?

Skyrim's worth getting again on PC simply for the mods. Whole different game.

Reddit.com/r/gamedeals is worth checking People post deals from all over the net, 90% of them are keys you redeem on Steam. Recently I've been enjoying: Limbo Bit Trip presents: Runner 2 and I got Don't Starve at the weekend which i've enjoyed so far but have barely scratched the surface of.

I didn't like Skyrim on the 360, but on PC the modding for it has basically made it an experience I well and truly enjoy. It does go on sale 3 times a year though, so wait for the complete collection to go on offer before investing in it. I myself prefer Fallout 3 (VATS makes it a better game, less clunky combat etc) but yes, worth investing in on the PC. I will inevitably be mentioning some first person titles as that's the bread and butter of PC gaming but I'll make sure to try not to mention any available on the 360 (apart from Team Fortress 2, but that's free!) Some of my favourite games available on Steam: 1) Kairo. A first person puzzle game, cheap, independent, and atmospheric as all hell. It actually gave me vertigo very early on... 2) Antichamber. Another first person puzzle game, but more conceptual and really quite interesting. I don't want to mention too much about it but as a relatively cheap title you aren't going to find much more imaginative and well thought out games in this generation. 3) Limbo. Saw this mentioned above, but as a solid simple platformer which I consider one of my favourite games on the 360, it needs to be played. It is SHORT but hell, I've played it through about 9 times, it's a draining, dreary, emotive experience. 4) Bastion. An RPG a few friends have raved about, I've only put an hour into this myself but given the sheer praise from very picky individuals I know this is a safe game to pick up. 5) Dead Pixels. If you haven't played this on the Xbox Arcade then pick it up for $2 today. Imagine Left 4 Dead without getting bored of predictable AI Director stuff, and with scavenging, and just as many game modes. 6) Team Fortress 2. It's free, it's co-op and versus, it's Team Fortress. If it's not to your tastes then no biggy due to the fact it's free. 7) Planetside 2. A free MMO shooter. Huge scale, regarded by many as the single best thousands upon thousands of players online games ever. I've not put much time into this game but again, it's free and if you manage to get sucked into it for 2 hours every other night you'll probably find one of your favourite gaming experiences. 8) Organ Trail: Director's Cut. It's like the Oregon Trail, but with zombies, and a ton of minigames and retro fan service to please anyone older than 23. I got this initially as I loved the Oregon Trail as a kid but truly a fun experience and one likely to take up 3 hours without you even realizing. 9) The Amnesia & Penumbra series. Both series are incredibly fun first person horror/adventure games, frightening, tense, intriguing etc adventure games. If you've ever played System Shock 2 or found Bioshock's story was good but the controls/gameplay in combat let it down then check these out. Amnesia: The Dark Descent is considered the best and has a good modding community behind it for extra levels & campaigns. If you're into grand strategy then pick up the Humble Bundle now as well, Sid Meier's Civilization 3/4/5 (5 is an outright bad game to me, but I'm a huge fan of 3&4) along with Railways and a few other titles. If you pay more than $1 you get 3/4/Railways and a few others, more than than the average (about $8 now) you get Civ5 & God's&Kings DLC, more than $15 and you also get the recently released Brave New World DLC - www.humblebundle.com/

I got the Dungeons And Dragons collection on a sale on GOG the other week.
Started Baldurs gate for the first time a few days ago (I applied the Baldurs Gate Trilogy Mod so I can play all the games as one continuing narrative in the Baldurs Gate II engine) it is ridiculously unforgiven even on the lowest difficulty. I've worked out a tactic now where I use one or two members of my party as bait who I get the enemies to follow whilst having everyone else stood far back using bow and arrows or casting spells, seems to work pretty well but I still have to be hitting the quick save button every 10 seconds when walking around just in case something hits me by surprise.
The pack it came in only cost £6 and it comes with Planet Scape and Icewind: Dale so that's a hell of alot of content for the price.
I also bought both the Neverwinter games for a similar price.

So I guess gog.com noticed that people hate the new Dungeon Keeper, so for the next 48 hours, they're giving away the original free. The sequel is on sale too.

Looks like we're getting Killer is Dead on PC. Japan seems to be realizing that there's a lot of upside to porting your games to PC.

Just wondering if anyone's played Mount & Blade: Warband? Played the demo and it seemed pretty good, was thinking about grabbing the bundle off Steam but thought I'd ask about it here first.
