Is this guy's gimmick basically that he craps all over anything that's supposed to be catchy harmless fun, or something?

Is this guy's gimmick basically that he craps all over anything that's supposed to be catchy harmless fun, or something? Nope just reviews music, some, most, he doesn't like. But then he gets stuff like this he doesn't mind. he also does a great series reviewing the careers of one hit wonders.

I stopped watching a while back. Guy came across as too cynical at times. He does some good stuff but otherwise, nah.

Almost like he's stalking me.

Honestly, Todd has never come across as cynical to me. Especially compared to guys like Spoony, he's completely fair to pretty much everything he reviews.

Todd is the only one left I even bother watching on TGWTG regularly.
I watch Cinema Snob off of his own website...and that's it. Down to 2 reviewers. How times have changed.

Is this guy's gimmick basically that he craps all over anything that's supposed to be catchy harmless fun, or something? His actual gimmick is that he's a silhouette. His opinion however, is that bad songs are bad when they offer nothing good. Or have Chris Brown singing them.

I think its because the most interesting songs to make fun of are the boy band/ teenage/ bad dance stuff that usually makes the top 40.

It might be partly because I geniunely enjoy a lot of dance pop (not exclusively, I like to think of my taste as being pretty diverse), but it just strikes me as odd how it's treated as anathema by so many music fans, as if extensive production in a song automatically drops its quality. There are dumb songs in just about every genre that don't get the attention a lot of pop songs do.

He compliments more stuff that damn near any internet reviewer I have ever seen. He will break down the problems of a song and he is almost always right. But he has no issue saying he likes a song despite those problems. Very few of his reviewers are fully negative.

There are dumb songs in just about every genre that don't get the attention a lot of pop songs do. That's just different tastes. I love a lot of stuff he's given bad reviews to because I like dance music, him not so much. But the reviews are still funny, articulate and well thought out. Just having a different opinion doesn't affect the quality of someone's work or my opinion of them. I'll have fun watching him trash David Guetta, then put on Titanium 5 minutes later, it's not serious.

Plus have have more social penetration and end up around us in public more than other types of music. There is dumb in all styles, but dumb pop invades our culture like no other.

Todd is one of the least negative reviewers I've seen online. He enjoys the stuff in the charts, that's why he reviews it, but he can say when something is bad, too. Have a look at his best/worst of *insert year* videos, there's a wide variety of stuff there.

I love Todd. He's always hilarious. I suggest looking up his stuff on YouTube, even back then he came up with great material. In regards to this review, I'm not a fan of One Direction but I actually liked What Makes You Beautiful. So while he didn't like that song, I feel a slight amount of vindication.

Watched this one yesterday myself. Never actually heard the song myself but based on what's played in the review... Yeah, doesn't seem that bad. Not likely to ever download it or anything but it seems decent. Todd is the only one left I even bother watching on TGWTG regularly. I watch Cinema Snob off of his own website...and that's it. Down to 2 reviewers. How times have changed. I watch Todd, Brad, Nostalgia Chick when she does something besides 50 Shades of Not Doing Her Actual Job, Oancitizen, Obscurus Lupa, Phelous, and Film Brain (for Bad Movie Beatdown, not Projector - that is just boring as all hell). I've basically completely dropped Linkara at this point (will watch anything further he does with All Star Batman & Robin and Marville, but outside of that I'm fed up with him) and I watch Doug's stuff pretty rarely, only when it interests me.
