I haven't kept up with the monthly stuff for years, but as a guy who prefers DC to Marvel in a gun to the head situation, DC keeps making it harder to defend them. The worst thing thing that Marvel has done as of late? Change up the background for a classic Iron Man enemy for a movie. (Though, your mileage may vary there.)

Time for Iron Man to stay with the Avengers exclusively, and for Marvel to focus on the fresher stuff (Cap, Thor, maybe Ruffalo Hulk? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ?) Of course, I thought the IM series jumped the shark with the first sequel. None of the other films could capture what IM1 had. Oh and another thing we can hold against Marvel: burying its good cartoons and replacing them with mediocre-to-bad followups. I hope Spectacular does hot ratings on Vortexx so we can get Ultimately Dumb Spider-Man canned and bring it back! Comic-wise, what do you all think of Superior Spider-Man?

I don't care much for it, but it's not really "offensively awful", in my opinion.

The context of the panels is Harley is looking for a new artist for her book. It's being done in the spirit of the old Chuck Jones "Duck Amuck" Looney Tunes cartoon, where the artist is putting the character s/he is drawing in ridiculous situations. With this in mind, I fail to see the problem with the panels. It never occurred to me until just now that Harley Quinn could become DC's Deadpool if they wanted to. *Yeah, Lobo could too, but he's more a parody of what Deadpool evolved out of. Apples and oranges.DC also has Ambush Bug for that, too.

This kind of reminds me of when like high school math or physics teachers write really dark test questions. It seems like the true objective is to see how the artists render the different expressions. I guess they thought that the scenario would give it something of a clever twist. Very misguided.

DC has botched it so badly with New 52(Which is a stupid name given it has been happening for more than a year, hasn't it by now?), and stuff like the Batwoman botch and the firing of Gail Simone for... I have no idea why, before they pretty much had to bring her back when they could not justify her firing are just symptoms of their main issue: they are completely out of touch with their fans.

Man, I almost always really enjoy DC cartoons and movies (at least since the Nolan-verse), but stuff like this makes me glad I tend to steer clear of the actual comics. Just stupid stuff on their part.

I thought it was the new 52 because there were 52 books in the relaunch... which has since fluctuated in size...

When I think Harley Quinn, the only way I see suicide as her potential is her jumping off a bridge because the Joker told her that she can fly.

I have to say that in general all these revisions and re-imaginings of characters have really killed my interest in new comics. All of their creative decisions just seem to steer me further in the direction of the Showcase Presents and Marvel Essentials. I'd rather read the stories that made the character famous, especially when the alternative is a bunch of publicity stunts and lame attempts at social relevancy.

Now that's similar to something I've thought DC should have done for years. Looking back, Crisis on Infinite Earths was a mistake. The Marvel Universe (mostly) works as a whole because it was conceived comic by comic. COIE had to resort to extreme measures to cram everybody into the same universe and there's been continuity patches since. DC comics characters seem to have a "plug in and play" quality to them anyway. Treat every comic book as its own universe and shut up about the multiverse. No one really cares. Superman has his own Earth, Batman has his. The Justice League has their own. It's not confusing until you articulate it. That is, it's easy to take in stride.

a 5 second rethink by DC will fix this problem. Maybe they need a break. 5 seconds? They don't have the ability to deal with that kind of inflexible and excessive time frame...... ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) They can manage for 2 seconds, then they need a reboot.

Comic books, featuring such famously un-married characters as Green Arrow, Superman, Reed Richards and Sue Storm
