When the hell are they going to stop trying to open this park? It's only the second time...and it's a new company that buys out InGen after Hammond's death that restarts his dream. In lost world didn't they try to open one In San Diego? So that might count

So that might count I looked up a crappy synopsis on it originally. You'rr correct. Hammond's nephew wanted to open a new park in San Diego to bail out InGen.

For who knows what reason, I watched the trailer and, not knowing anything about the movie other than what's show in the trailer, I have two questions:
1) Is this in the same universe as the other Jurassic Park movies or is this supposed to be a reboot/new story (the line about five years of genetic progress trumping 20 years of archeology makes me think the latter)?
2) Is it safe to assume that dinos team up with humans to face the mutant/dino abomination?

So not a reboot. 2)Don't know, Chris Pratt character studies raptors so maybe.

It's the original island. A new company buys InGen and uses their research for fun and profit. Mostly profit.

Yeah, I know that sounds insane, but that's my current headcanon until actual plot comes out.

the genetically modified dinosaur is actually a T-Rex with machine guns for arms and a rocket launcher glued to the top of its head

It'd be cool if the genetically modified dinosaur was actually the Dragonzord.

Saw the jab at Jaws there.
Also, doesn't it defeat the purpose and fun of bringing back dinosaurs if you are going to create NEW species.

Technically InGen didn't bring back any dinosaurs. They made hybrid versions with the best possible reconstruction they could manage using DNA from other animals like frogs and lizards. Which is why thankfully scientific accuracy isn't essential, and why feathered dinosaurs never need to be seen in a JP movie.

I'm really looking forward to the Raptor face turn. They've paid their dues and it's time to see them get their proper push.
Is the T-rex face turn still a thing? I'm wondering if it's secret, so that when we see it running on screen we'll ask "but who's side is it on?"

So, they bred a species that never actually existed. Rather than like what we did with dogs and have known how to do for, what 10,000 years and breed the cute and loyal or any other trait, they bred an unstoppable killing machine.

Lol, "it's killing for sport."
What I don't get is if you're gonna make your own dinosaur why not go crazy with the design. Brachiosaurus body, Tyrannosaurus head, horns and frill of a triceratops, something really bizarre.
