Well, I'm out. I'll just keep enjoying the Nick series and pretend this doesn't exist. It'll fit nicely next to The Next Mutation and volume 3 of the original comics as Turtles shit I don't acknowledge. I mostly acknowledge the first two live action movies, the Archie TMNT comic and the Nick show above all else.

(Now watch them bury the Nick show so people don't get "confused," like they did to Transformers Animated...) Would the "Gotham" (red sky) seasons of the CBS run be on this non-existing shelf? To be honest, I stop at season 3. I don't like any of the episodes from the switch to CBS. Then again, the 1988 series is my least favorite of the animated Turtles shows, despite being the one I grew up on being a child of that time period. I like aspects of it (Splinter actually being Hamato Yoshi, Fly Baxter, Bebop & Rocksteady), but the overall tone just kills me when I play the DVDs nowadays for my daughter. It's honestly a parody of the franchise. I'd rank my favorite Turtles universes like Original live action film Nickelodeon Volume 1 of the Mirage comic 2003 animated series Archie Comics series 1988 animated series Secret of the Ooze IDW comic series And nothing else exists on my radar. I was holding out a shred of hope for this film could land just above or below the IDW comic for me, but Shrekelangelo and his homeless breakdancer garb just killed it for me.

Man, the original live action film is amazing how it really still holds up. Watched it again fairly recently, and it's pretty amazing that they took something that on the face of it is just a ridiculous concept, and in 1989 put out something I can enjoy just as much as I did when I was 11 when it came out.

I totally agree, and will also say that it's my favorite comic adaptation ever. It did the three things all comic book movies should do. 1. It was taken seriously. 2. It took the best of the Mirage series and the best of the animated series and combined them into a package that respected both fanbases. 3. It was about characters, not action and eye candy. I mean really, they took a concept about four mutant turtles who fight ninjas alongside a nutcase in a hockey mask, and they delivered a heartfelt story about fathers and sons. That's why the movie holds up so well. It doesn't matter that the filmmaking techniques are dated, because it was never about that. 15 years from now people will look at Michael Bay's Transformer movies and say "Man, this CGI is so cheesy compared to the stuff they're doing now". It's been 24 years since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and what do people say about it? "I love the part where _______ happens. Casey Jones was hilarious. That campfire scene makes me tear up.". It's never going to be dated because good storytelling never goes out of style.

Side note, I would love a Casey Jones flick or WB style tv show.

Hi all, I am actually a fan of the Ninja Turtles movie and if they are making another, I'll be the girl who buys the premier tickets because I just can't wait to see it. My husband and I own all of the previous ones and have watched them many times over the course of our two year marriage. We are nerds and we don't care.
Thanks, Mrs. Marie

TBF it IS a Halloween costume. Still, did someone get offended that the Turtles are essentially naked except for straps and belts, thus the need for pants?

Of course they're going to have genitalia Oh, silly me. How could I forget what they did to Devastator? If it's any consolation, at least Revenge of the Fallen wasn't released now. Otherwise Seltzer and Friedberg would be sure to do another parody movie in which there's a HIGH-larious scene with a Miley Cyrus clone hanging onto Devastator's "scrotum".

Does anyone else see Michelangelo's big white dick hanging from his waistband? It's like the Sin Cara t-shirt all over again.

Those designs look too 'busy' to me personally, but eh.

So is Vernem going to be gay in the movie. He was always effiminate in the old cartoon, but now a days since we live in more open times, maybe he can be more than effiminate.

Not a bad look for Shredder. A bit too overdesigned, but better than I was expecting.
The Turtles themselves look amazing design-wise, but the outfits kill them. Raphael specifically looks f***ing retarded.

God those outfits are so ugly and unnecessary. It's like they just couldn't do the basic Turtle gear, because Hollywood always has to put their own spin on everything. It makes absolutely zero sense that Leonardo would wear Bamboo armor over his chest plate which already IS armor, or that Donatello is wearing crap that would make kicking damn near impossible. It's such a shame because their anatomical designs and especially those faces are amazing. They'd look great dressed in the traditional Ninja Turtles gear.
