I've been joking for months now about New Japan and their love for rematches but that Dominion Card man... Okada/Styles is actually the freshest match-up (depending on who faces Omega) in that entire card... and that speaks volumes.

A lot more foreigners in the BOSJ this year. Not seeing Ibushi in the lineup makes me happy because that mean he's no longer considered a junior and can move up the card. Surprised they added a young boy in the mix. Also surprised no NOAH talent involved.

If anything, the "freshest" match-up is Sakuraba vs Shibata.

They could have brought over Atushi Kotoge or Taiji Ishimori over to fill the spot taken by David Finlay.

The NOAH juniors are too busy to trying to get back the titles and pride from the Suzuki-Gun juniors. But they could at least those at least one or two of them in the mix. I think David got the spot since he's a legacy wrestler and either is or about to join the NJPW dojo.

That NEVER title needs some new blood in it.
And this alliance with NWA is hampering NJPW. They'd be much better off teaming with another promotion at this point as they bring nothing to the show.

That's a really poor and underwhelming lineup for the BOSJ, Is David related to Fit Finlay by any chance?
Couldn't they have gotten some guys from ROH like Cedric or some talent like Kotoge or Ishimori from NOAH or other CMLL guys? Though it is nice that Yohei is getting his first opportunity to shine on the big stage.

I'd missed Saku/Shibata on the card. Still though, rematch central.

Hoping Sakuraba vs Shibata goes better for Shibata than their Hero's fight.

The title scene in NJPW in general needs new blood. And the NWA alliance is still a go due to puroresu companies being marks for the NWA legacy. The NWA titles give something their vets to put on their career achievements. NWA puts over the NJPW on their cards while the NJPW folks return the favor months later stateside.

I know, but the talent that comes over from NWA just isn't that interesting to me. The IC & Jr. titles are okay right now. the tag scenes definitely need some new blood. Trent&Rocky were a good addition but ..well, you saw what happened with them. At least Ibushi got throw in to the World title mix. So there's hope.

They've got some incredible wrestlers, but they rely too heavily on certain guys being in certain spots for too long. So things tend to get pretty stale for a while.

Suzukigun successfully retained all GHC Championships today at NOAH's Great Voyage in Yokohama today and continued their dominance. Yuji Nagata made a special appearance wrestling as Maybach Blue Justice during the event

I love Minoru Suzuki in NOAH because he gets the the ultimate asshole who pisses on their tradition and wrestlers. He clowned on Morishima having to retire and made Kenta Kobashi want to fight because the blatant dirty tactics he used when he won the GHC title. Plus no Yano.

So I haven't watched a single thing since WK9. Any suggestions on what is worth watching to catch up?

So I haven't watched a single thing since WK9. Any suggestions on what is worth watching to catch up? If there's one match you have to watch from NJPW since WK9, it's Honma vs Ishii at The New Beginning in Sendai for the vacated NEVER title. I'd also recommend Styles vs Ibushi and Omega vs Dorada from Invasion Attack.

On June 15th, Maybach Taniguchi challenges Suzuki for The GHC Heavyweight title and on June 19th Big in USA (Chris Hero and Colt Cabana) face the Killer Elite Squad who they beat in The Global Tag League, for The GHC Heavyweight Tag Belts.

Sounds like another Suzuki-gun sweep. When's NOAH's next big, big show?

All the BOSJ shows have been added to New Japan World's schedule, and the majority are to be available shortly after the event. Live shows available on World include the 3 Korakuen shows (5/22, 5/30, 6/5) and the final (6/7).
