I'll give some brief thoughts on the show *sigh*:
- Ishii is legitimately going to end up in a wheelchair if he keeps working the style he's working. It's just utterly pointless. Every single show he just has the same 'lets be stiff and legit beat the shit out of each other' match. - Okadawinslol. I have no desire to see another Okada reign. He's now held that belt as many times as Riki Choshu did. That's ridiculous. - Tana's going to win the G1, setting up the match vs Okada at WK10 that I have no desire to see. - Nakamura is still the best and most over wrestler in the company. I so hope he wins the G1. I don't hold out much though. - The Junior and Tag matches are worthless. I have been given no reason to care by New Japan. Hey, remember in the 90's when they were a part of the card that you wanted to see? Why are the tag titles literally just swapped from gaijin team to gaijin team. They ended Meiyu-Tag's reign for this? Pfffft.
Just really, really boring. I'm sure the matches are fantastic, because they always are, but why should I care? I really am losing any hope. I love New Japan, it's always been my favourite Japanese company, but it's so difficult to like anything they're doing right now. The G1 looks appalling. I've seen all those matches before. Why are there no interesting outsiders like there always used to be in G1's to make it different and give the crowd someone to dislike? It's not as if NOAH don't need a bit of exposure, and New Japan basically run NOAH now. Why not bring in someone?
* In other news, I'm hearing really good things about All Japan at the moment. Might be worth everyone checking it out.
EDIT: Okada has also held the title as many times as Shinya Hashimoto, the most legendary wrestler in New Japan's history not named Inoki. That's just crazy.

I know people are loving Ishii's hardhitting style but dude is going to wind up worst than Kobashi at the rate he's going. That wasn't a sell job. He was legitimately f***ed up.

Looks like it'll be the Bucks vs reDRagon for the junior tag titles on the final day of the G1. They really need some new blood in that division.

This is the problem since Suzukigun went to NOAH and Shelley left. There's no teams. They're fun and great matches no doubt, but it gets redundant aftera while. I'd give Sho and Yohei a shot, let them have an opportunity to see if they are ready for the big leagues. Or a tag team from CMLL to come in and compete. Or bring in The Addiction.

This is what makes it so difficult for me to get into Ishii matches. His matches moved pass just Finlay level of snugness and stiff into "Just f*** me up, bro" zone. His body can't keep up the pace. Especially with him not taking time to heal.

The thing is, all New Japan have to do is get TAKA and Taichi to work New Japan as well as NOAH, and at least do something different. New Japan basically own NOAH, they can do whatever they want with it!
Hell, why not try booking something so that it's different? Generally that's not Jado & Gedo's style. No, endless Bullet Club is a much better idea.

No, endless Bullet Club is a much better idea. The biggest weakness New Japan has is the tag divisions in both weight classes. There are teams and wrestlers out there to help strengthen things but for what ever reason, they don't do it. I get why they can't use NOAH's juniors since they got their own junior tournament about to start. But the juniors tag been almost always 3 teams with numerous title changes and matchups. And the heavyweights is Karl Anderson and whomever his new tag partner is, another evil gaijin duo, and a veteran team who are no longer contenders for the IWGP belt.

Nakamura looked better as a ninja in his garb yesterday than whatever it is that passes for a ninja in Naruto.
I'd would pay good money to see him deliver a Boma Ye into The Uchiha's Sharigan faces.

Just signed up for NJPW World over the weekend. I found it a little difficult to navigate even with Google translate, but eventually figured it out.
I thought the show was very good top to bottom. AJ/Okada was tremendous & that ending sequence was amazing. Not sure how I feel about Okada winning the strap again because I'm a big AJ fan and I was hoping Nakamura would be the one to knock him off.
Nakamura/Goto was ok, definitely not their best match. Shibata/Sakuraba was surprisingly great! Shibata is in a tough spot because he's great but the company doesn't completely trust him yet. I hope they at least give him a shot at the IC title. The tag divisions do need depth although I could watch Young Bucks/reDRagon all day. Omega/KUSHIDA was MOTN for me! Absolutely phenomenal! I just hope they push Kenny into the heavyweight scene but I don't think it's likely with him not being in the G1. Definitely a show worth checking out though!

Anyone else have Omega/Kushida as a better match than Okada/Styles? Those two stole the show in a MOTY candidate. Match was better in every way other than the ending.
Any chance of Ibushi/Nakamura G1 Climax final or at WK10?

I'm assuming the final of the tournament will be Nakamura vs Styles, with WK10 having Nakamura vs Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Title and Tanahashi vs Ibushi for the IC title.
