Good episode. Seems like every single plot of this season has converged and we're finally on a single path.

I really enjoyed this episode yet at the same time felt I'm not intelligent enough to fully understand everything that's going on.

I wish some people would stop with the idea that Ward will redeem himself eventually. Not here, but in some episode reviews I've read they've thrown around the idea that he might redeem himself by stopping Hydra's plans to open the portal.
Ward.
Is.
Evil.
Get over it.
The son of a bitch murdered everyone on a airliner just to get to Von Strucker's vault. f*** that guy.
I am amused how they're playing it off as the only Von Strucker heir is dead though.

Next episode spoiler: {Spoiler}Plus, Ward's gonna do some personal shit that'll cause Coulson to apparently snap. He's as vile as initial heel Seth Rollins.

I was so sure at first that Ward was a mole for Coulson, since he seemed to pull Ward aside and say something to him in that one episode before Ward went bad.
That went out the window as soon as he started killing SHIELD agents.
He's great as a villain, but it still came out of nowhere. I suppose that's the idea with sleeper agents though, and its far less unreasonable than there being an entire secret shadow organization of shadow agents and no one spilling the beans.

OMG, just read a theory on another site. It makes so much sense. The idea is that the Inhumans will use the portal to get to that other planet. Bam, they have their new home. Just like in the comics. I really haven't been following the show this season but by comics do you mean the Blue Side of the moon

Making Ward evil was the best decision this show ever made. Evil Grant Ward continues to be one of my favorite things about this show. Easily my favorite villain in the MCU, though Tennant's Killgrave is gonna make it really competitive. FitzSimmons is so breaking my heart right now. I think Iain and Elizabeth just might be far and away the best actors on this show. I would honestly love an episode with just those two. Now onto the episode itself (spoiler for aired episode): {Spoiler}I so called it that Rosalind was on the up and up. Can't imagine what her relationship with Coulson is going to be like after last night's episode, though. Also, somebody on another site said the Ram's Head group (the origins of Hydra) reminded them of Wolfram and Hart. They're not alone there.

So finally watched this weeks episode. I've grown to like Fitz and Simmons as characters, especially Fitz, especially since they finally stopped that "FitzSimmons" crap and have started developing them as separate people. I was at times rooting for them to make it as a couple. But man, that kiss was hard to watch. They had about as much chemistry as Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley in that kiss. As for HYDRA's revelation, well after all that talk about octopuses at the beginning of the episode, and octopus logo, I'm thinking there really is only one option for their Inhuman - {Spoiler}It's Cthulhu. It's gotta be Cthulhu. Does Cthulhu have any kind of history in the Marvel comics?

It's gotta be Cthulhu. Does Cthulhu have any kind of history in the Marvel comics? Could be Hive: a sort of eldritch abomination that debuted in the Secret Warriors series as a living weapon for Hydra. I mean, sure, it wasn't an Inhuman in the comics, but neither was Daisy/Quake.

Wouldn't surprise me, given that this season is supposed to build to the formation of the Secret Warriors, and they've borrowed a fair bit from that series.

Evil Grant Ward continues to be one of my favorite things about this show. Easily my favorite villain in the MCU, though Tennant's Killgrave is gonna make it really competitive. It's funny, since aside from Loki all the villains in the MCU movies have been pretty weak, while the majority of the villains in the MCU TV shows have been really strong - especially Ward, Garrett, Cal, Fisk, and (based on the reviews so far) Killgrave.

That's just the nature of storytelling. In a movie the villain has two, two and a half hours to have their rise and fall. Television series though have multiple episodes and even seasons to tell the villains stories, to see all their wins and losses, their personality quirks, etc. Try squeezing Ward or Fisk's stories into movie length and you inevitable have to cut a LOT of what makes them interesting.

True, but other movies manage to present rich, compelling villains in the same amount of time, while Marvel seem to regularly fail.

Speculation to how next week ends {Spoiler}In an ironic twist, both Phil and Ward end up trapped on Planet Death, while It comes over to the other side. Secret Warriors kill It.

Too bad. I was hoping Coulson could finally find true love.
I like Mac being in charge. And I marked out when Lincoln and the other guy were called in.
For all of Simmons's screaming, you'd think they'd show more injuries
