I think the "Let's fix the hole in the plane with an inflatable raft" ruined this show forever for me. but that was a SHIELD issue inflatable raft. it's probably made of unstable molecules or something. It was made by monks out of Buffy.

The dialogue this week seemed a bit off compared to last weeks, it lacked the Joss Whedon charm, I just looked the episode up and he wrote last weeks but not this weeks, you can really tell.
I'm really enjoying this so far, it's fun, it's nothing ground breaking at the moment but it's alot of fun. This episode did everything it needed to. Hell most TV shows take until the second or third season to establish themselves and get to their highest quality.
I agree that it is very 90's and that is not a bad thing at all.

But seriously, get some damn not-important-enough-for-a-movie superheroes on there already, and not made up ones! {Spoiler}Apparently Gravitron is going to appear soon, under his regular name.
And seeing that clip from next week with cars flinging about to and fro (something invisible does it?) I could maybe see that being him...

Ratings crash, down 34% from last week Head to head against Ziva's last NCIS, it's not surprising.

I saw the pilot but I missed last night's show. I thought it was ok, but I really don't understand why they're not using the SHIELD characters from the comics. I think Fury, Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe, etc. are all better characters than the new ones they came up with.

Granted they could try explaining it with whatever the super soldier serum derivative they gave Fury was called I suppose. Not sure if I liked last weeks episode better or not... And since I'm sure everyone cares this is apparently my fathers new favorite show

I have this feeling the slow character progression is planned, as it feels intentional, not like sloppy writing.

Also I think if they did the Howling Commandos it may not play off as well unless they give an explanation on how they look like that after being in WW2. I do though think the Howling Commandos would be a good WW2 movie or even a t.v. movie

I wish the Girl Scientist turned around at the end. Those were some tight pants. I agree..I agree. Skye is still the hottest, but I am really starting to like her as well. Enjoyed that one more than the pilot. Yes incredible cliche team with the nerdy one's, the silent one, the takes business seriously guy and the awkward girl but I really love it. Coulson does steal the show though, love that guy and the character, and he delivers every line perfectly. He does comedy, but you know he is still a bad ass. Also just happens to master of the evil eye, seriously don't f*** him...just don't Seriously how can you not love the guy? I think the set's and cgi are decent actually considering the budget, it could be a lot worse. I am definitely enjoying it more and more, after each episode. Hopefully they can keep it going. Still no regret for putting Chloe Bennet on my future wives list, amazingly beautiful, in fact distractingly so whenever she is on screen.

Because more or less, this is just Joss Whedon getting another shot at network TV with his own original characters, but now he gets to slap "MARVEL" on it.

I think it's a shame that they aren't usuing more C/D list characters. Last night's Reyes could have easily been Silver Sable.

I do agree that they could and should start using some lower tier characters in the show, but I kind of understand why they havent since it's only the first two episodes and want to establish the new people first... also I wouldn't be horribly surprised if "The Rising Tide" turns out to be a Hydra front... or some other villain group... or Atlantis Also I decided I'm going to stick with my Coulson is Ultron theory despite it being unbelievably unlikely... but unless they go for THE ULTIMATE SWERVE Coulson is at least a robot of some type, especially with how he always responds about Tahiti the same way and in the same tone of voice. Then again he says it's a magical place... maybe they just called a Doctor {Spoiler}

I think the "Let's fix the hole in the plane with an inflatable raft" ruined this show forever for me. Not for me since a gaping hole that big would have normalized the pressure withing seconds. Planes land after worse damage from time to time.

If Simmons turns around in that pants next time, she takes hottest on the show. I thought the Peru set was terrible. I understand how budget restricts them but this one was terrible. Power Rangers had better ancient temples. Just use a cave next time.

They gotta start doing something interesting with Fitz and Simmons soon. Right now they don't seem to be fully realized characters as much as they're just a random collection of quirks that vaguely resembles a personality. And their accents are difficult to understand at times.
