No knock on the NHL franchise, because it's one of the best sports video games going, but it's been the exact same game since NHL 09. People give the Madden franchise crap for basically being a $60 roster update, but for the last five years, no sports video game has been more guilty of that sin than NHL. 14 changed. They made the physics better. The hitting is way more satisfying than it has been in years. Still room to improve, but still good. NHL.com has a vote up for the cover athlete. I really want PK Subban to win it. The problem is they never changed the presentation and announce team so every year looked same until you started playing it. f*** the last3 years when I bought a copy I just went and shut off the commentary because it was so stale. Gary Throne hasn't been doing NHL play by play for how many years now? And he wasn't even good at it when he did it

Though I wish they'd at least change the commentary. If nothing else, get Doc Emrick on that shit. Also I really liked NHL 14's NHL '94 mode. It was good, nostalgic fun.

What I hated in 14 was in Live the Life mode. My rookie came in, 7 goals his first game, 3 the next, 2 the next. Then they bust my ass down to the minors because I am not meeting expectations. What the hell? I led the league in almost every stat.

Shame they probably won't use NBC's graphics for presentation, though.

Rangers can't score on a double minor, then give up Crosbys 1st goal of the postseason. Because, of course.

Papi Lebatard was right about Crosby ending his scoring drought tonight. Not bad for an old Cubano who first learned who Sidney Crosby was about 6 hours ago. Also confirming what was mentioned earlier: Doc Emrick and Eddie Olczyk will be the commentary team for NHL 15. I almost want to get the game just for Virtual Doc's mannerisms. Ray Ferraro from TSN is going to be the "between the glass" guy. Surprised they didn't go with Pierre McGuire.

Another PP the Rangers can't score on, and the Pens score seconds later. Rangers aren't gonna win tonight, I can feel it.

Man, the Rangers have been shut out twice by a unimpressive defensive unit and an incredibly inconsistent goalie in Fleury.
I almost feel bad for Lundqvist. He's playing out of his mind and he can't get any goal support.

He's playing out of his mind and he can't get any goal support. So the same issues the Rangers have had since Messier left? Lots of names who should be scoring up a storm but their goalie has to save their ass over and over because for whatever reason the best forward corps imaginable cannot get it done.

The Rangers beating the Flyers in game 7- best thing that happened to Fleury.
It's night and day the way he plays against those teams.

Seriously, if we get Kings-Blackhawks II, I'm just gonna root for the East winner regardless.
It would feel like a letdown going back to same old same old.

LOL. You're a goof. Anyways, I wasn't able to see the game tonight(Hurray for Engineering!), but I'm very, VERY pleased we're up 2-0 on the Ducks.
