I'd say that probably says more about them than cancelling the shows does, is if they went ahead and cancelled them before deciding what to do as an alternative.

They probably already have a location for Impact shows. Even if there were financial issues, I cold see Spike stepping in and paying for enough Impacts until the end of the year.

The local stations here in Chattanooga are still running ads for the canceled show. I guess they haven't received the memo?

Yeah, TNA isn't dying regardless of how badly some people here want it to be true.
As some posters have said I imagine they have signed a deal to tape the show permanently from somewhere. This is great for TNA because they can take a few years to gather things up and try it again in 2016-2017 and see if they can do a bit better. All because they failed once doesn't mean they'll fail forever.
Plus, if this results in more talent coming to TNA. I'm all for it.

I defend ROH almost the same way in other places. But this is far, FAR from their first failure.

TNA was reckless with their planning for going on the road, but in order to grow the brand they had to make it accessible to many different markets. Turns out, a lot of markets do not watch TNA or know about it (hence the poor attendance). They should have planned better, marketed better, etc, etc. But the concept was necessary. If you bring in Hardy, Angle, Hogan, RVD, etc, it's clear the company does not want to be viewed as an indy, and for that, they had to try to go on the road to look like a legitimate wrestling promotion. They clearly were not ready for it. If going back to one location improves their finances and allows them to add new talent, then it's a step in the right direction. You can't become a championship team in one off-season, which is what TNA has been trying to do since Hulk arrived (going to Monday's, going live every week, going on the road, etc). It takes years of development and marketing. They need to be patient.
The problem with the Impact Zone was the shitty crowds filled with tourists. If they can cram 1000 wrestling fans into the same building every week, I'd have no problem with it.

If they're moving to a permanent location they would be making the best decision they could at this time.

WWE has had failed projects, ROH has had failed projects, my local indy has had failed projects. It's common. Maybe in 2013 they can't make money long term on the road but in 2016-2017 maybe they'll be able to.

Most people here were all for them going on the road, weren't they? I seem to remember that being the common sentiment that they needed go that route.

The Impact Zone was terrible and hurt the company from a viewing standpoint and a star-making standpoint (it is hard to know who is over and who isn't over when the crowd either sits on their hands unless a big star is there or only chants "you suck" to whoever they think is playing the heel at any particular moment). Obviously I gave TNA too much credit in that I assumed they actually forecasted the expenses before making such a huge decision.

Tape 4-6 weeks of episodes? Hope this doesn't come back to bite them in the rear.
