Herb is f***ing awful. Lets JDS get knocked out and punch drunk, and keeps it going, but the second Fedor gets tagged, STOP THE FIGHT!

While no one can ever question the heart of JDS I really can't help but wonder what his f***ing game plan was as he pretty much allowed Cain to beat the shit out him for another 5 rounds. Before he got rocked, Rogan mentioned how he seemed to be trying to pace himself more. I'm thinking he wanted to Rope A Dope Cain from the cage and then swing heavy in the championship rounds. He worked to make sure he avoided takedowns, so I assume he was wanting Cain to swing and rely on his boxing movement to avoid heavy hits. But as they said with him, it only takes one getting through. The elbows also seemed like a plan. Box if apart, try to squeeze in the elbows if pressed. Caught Cain a few times but Cain's speed avoided most of them. Speaking of his boxing, he can thank it for the extra beating he received. Clinching for breath like a winded James Toney took away most of Herb Dean's momentum to stop the fight. The moment Herb missed the initial flurry of violence, it was only bits and pieces quickly followed by a grab.

Bonus awards for the event are
Fight of The Night: Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez Knockout of The Night: John Dodson Submission of the Night: Tony Ferguson
Also lol at people bitching online about how they thought the ending to Cain/JSD 3 was a crappy stoppage.

I don't know why. JDS was out of it and just covering up. Should have been ended in the 3rd anyway.

I guess that explains the "Hit me" taunting at the end of the third. If Roy actually felt that DC wasn't engaging then I'm assuming he has no respect for kicks as anything other than "Stay away" swipes. As for out-wrestled, the man did get up from every takedown from a dude who has lived on "Now you're on the ground! I win the round by just being here!" before.

DC did hit him though. He outstruck Nelson and seemed to hurt him a few times. Nelson has a great chin and he showed that again last night. But that was all he showed.

Indeed, but you never know how the guy in the fight will see it. Even Diego was trying to act as if the crowd reaction was because they knew he "won" his fight...then there's Dos Santos who apparently thought he was knocked out in the 2nd and couldn't remember his post-fight interview.

Yeah Herb Dean really needs to be called out over how inconsistent his reffing (especially with stoppages) has become over the past few years. Hard to believe that he was once arguably the best ref in MMA.

From the post-166 interviews and such, Dana White has said that Fabricio is almost certainly next to face Velasquez.
