What a fun movie.
I lost it over the mid credits scene.

Wow. I really, really disliked this movie. So damn disappointing. I feel the exact opposite. May I ask why? While I loved the movie too, it really is easy to see why it could dissapoint. {Spoiler}One thing is Bucky is so pain-stakingly underdeveloped the whole movie, and barely is a factor in it. His fight scenes with Steve arent really that intense or inspired either, and the filmmakers just sort of expect you to care about him on basis of being from the first movie and relying on your emotional connection to how he was there. The whole film was barely about his impact on events. Also I feel the film can be too "safe", SHIELD collapsing ought to be a bigger game-changing event than it feels, given it will impact a whole television show and the backbone of future Avengers movies, but for some reason it fell flat for me. Other elements, such as the comic book death fake-outs and the lack of any strong comedy, with Evans playing straight-man with only some dry wit from Johanson and Mackie, really does limit the range. I did love the air conditioning gag and Stan Lee's cameo, and more of that would have been nice, even if Cap is not known for any real contemporary cyanscism, which is understandable because it compliments his "man out of time" perameters.
Overall I do think it is the best Marvel movie in that it accomplishes so much and changes the landscape, which is sorely needed, but it does it in a very routine way and can be a little too reined in.

I don't read the comics, never have, so I'm strictly saying this as a casual viewer...am I the only one who feels the overall plot is getting murkier? It's like they're building up towards Avengers 2 AND 3 at the same time (ultimate goal being Thanos) but they're introducing more characters which makes it all the more confusing, at least for me. {Spoiler}The "Twins" I had to Wiki, and apparently they appear in X-Men, Days of Future Past as well, so there's 2 versions?

BEST MARVEL MOVIE EVER. And as for the credits... {Spoiler}So they've turned Quicksilver and Wanda into Fenris. Not an explanation I'm particularly fond of, but I'll put a little faith in Marvel in this one to not f*** things up too hard.

Just got back a little while ago and I liked it quite a bit. Definitely recommend going to see it but I did enjoy the first one more. That could change after a second viewing somewhere down the line so I can try to catch the things I missed. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} -Don't know if this should be spoiler tagged or not but the elevator scene where they all turn on Captain America, when he notices them acting strange and it zooms in on the one dude's bead of sweat reminded me of Total Recall where Arnold KNEW that guy was lying about half way through the film because of the single bead of sweat and had me laughing my ass off. Random tidbit.
-I loved Falcon but I wish he was more than Cap's lap dog and it left me frustrated when he didn't even beat the Hydra guy before the plane crashed into the building. I guess it had meaning when they saved his burning corpse because he turns into some bad guy down the line that I'm unaware of, but I really wanted Falcon to take down the second toughest bad guy.
-I liked the inclusion of Dr. Zola as the super computer and I hope that the missile didn't completely wipe it out of potentially being in future movies.
-Can someone explain the first credits scene with the twins? Unfortunately, I'm not very knowledgeable of Marvel's comic book history but if there are names or potentially what this could build up to with the Infinity Gauntlet, I would like to research more of it. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I think Falcon just wasnt as good of a hand to hand fighter as the other guy. It was a soldier vs a killer that enjoys killing.

So it's not a stretch that he "beats" Falcon. Not knocking Falcon, I just have to put Crossbones a little higher up the list.

I saw this last night and enjoyed the hell out of it. And this is coming from someone who absolutely hated the first one and has hated every Marvel movie since Avengers.

Wow. I really, really disliked this movie. So damn disappointing. I feel the exact opposite. May I ask why? Reasons I disliked it: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}-No mention at all of Hawkeye. It was disappointing enough that he wasn't in the movie at all, given how close he and Cap are in the comics, but to have SHIELD going to Hell and not even throw in a line to acknowledge his absence kept me frustrated the entire movie. -Too much Black Widow and Maria Hill. -Not enough Sharon Carter. -Batroc was too boring. -Everything about Jasper Sitwell. It was bad enough that he didn't look like the comic version, but making him a double-agent for Hydra was the icing on the crap-cake. -While it was cool to see Arnim Zola again, it was a bit jolting to see him go from being someone who was barely loyal to Hydra in the first movie to seemingly being one of the architects of its return in the second. -I'm also just not a fan of the Winter Soldier character, so nothing about that plotline did anything for me at all. I won't say it was a terrible movie, and I can see how the casual audience would enjoy it, but it just wasn't for me.

Question after seeing the film. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} After the name is shown in the flick. When does Dr. Strange show up?

Really, really good film. My second favorite after the first Captain America film. That being said, {Spoiler}The lack of any mention of Hawkeye, combined with how underutilized Bucky was really grinds my gears. Chris Evans did a superb job and I love what went down with HYDRA, but come on.

Hell {Spoiler}Crossbones assassinated Captain America in the comic book and the Twins are basically Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver, who are brother and sister but can't be called mutants because of rights among studios, also both are members of the Avengers and Scarlet Witch actually married The Vision and has some history with Ultron

Depending if they do go with the Infinity Gauntlet story then he is involved yes. Depends if Adam Warlock shows up and who they use to replace the Silver Surfer.

Yeah' Im thinking Dr Strange is gonna be the first or second "Phase 3" movie, with Guardians being "Phase 2" wildcard movie. Loved this movie though, LOVED IT.

Not an explanation I'm particularly fond of, but I'll put a little faith in Marvel in this one to not f*** things up too hard. I quite like that they have done that. I called it as an explanation ages ago, it brings another classic Marvel bad guy to screen and it allows those two to have the same origin as the comics really, just with a different evil father. If people are going to complain about this movie, for me, the complaints begin and end with Black Widow. Her back story is totally obliterated by a line in this movie which strips away anything that makes her interesting and makes a solo film about her something I would have zero interest in.

Just saw it. Loved it. I think Winter Soldier might just edge out The Avengers for best Marvel comic movie. {Spoiler}Also, this movie won conspiracy theorist Bingo about three times over: shadow government, Big Brother surveillance, the "New World Order" namedrop, Nazi mysticism, mind control; you name it, it's in there. We even got some one eye symbolism, courtesy of that nasty electroshock device in the HYDRA laboratory. Oh, and the soundtrack is amazing, and "Taking a Stand" should be Captain America's official leitmotif.
