An Alabama man who wanted to hire the KKK to murder his African-American neighbor is in jail now, thanks to an FBI agent who posed as a Klansman.
“I want this man hung from a tree like he is an animal,” 29-year old Alabama resident Allen Wayne Densen Morgan said, according to a federal complaint. “I want his dick cut off and I want him cut.”
“You’re a hunting man right? … I want him hung from a tree and gutted and left him hung in that tree. … That’s how I want him to die. Die a slow and painful death.”
Morgan wanted to have his neighbor, Clifford Maurice Mosley, who is a convicted sex offender, murdered because he thought he had raped Morgan’s wife. The complaint also says that Morgan’s family was supportive of killing and wanted the entire neighborhood block dynamited.
The federal complaint notes that Morgan told the FBI agent he tried to “force a confrontation” with Mosley by firing “multiple rounds of ammunition” at him outside in the street.
Morgan apparently believed that Mosley had to be guilty of raping his wife, because he ran when Morgan shot his gun.
“Mosley fled on foot as Morgan fired several shots in the ground beside him in an effort to intimidate him,” the FBI agent’s complaint reads. “Morgan assessed that Mosley must be guilty of the rape of his wife because Mosley never tried to defend himself by standing his ground or offering to reason with Morgan.”
Morgan, who served in the Army in Iraq, met in August with the FBI agent who pretended to be a Klansman in a hotel. He explained to him that he didn’t have any money at the moment to pay for the murder, but offered “a watch and a necklace” and a firearm.
Morgan was arrested at the conclusion of the hotel meeting. Yesterday, he pled guilty.
Morgan, according to AL.com, “is an Iraq veteran who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder that triggered suicidal thoughts and substance abuse, he told AL.com in a 2012 interview. That interview focused on a band he was in, The Hellmand Project, made up of combat veterans trying to cope through music.”
