Could it work? This is all assuming Shawn has turned heel of course. (I loved that segment with Bryan on RAW, btw) I guess it would be a bit like '97 minus Chyna and Rick Rude, only this time they are in power...

Now they would just need to acknowledge this and come out in corporate grey suits with green neckties or something.

I'd rather not see a DX reunion of any kind.

Nah- they've planted the seed for Shawn to tell HHH goodbye. He didn't come help him when DB had him in the Yes lock & he previously had his arm broken by Brock in a Kimura for Hunter. The fact that HHH didn't even acknowledge it Monday makes me think That was Shawn being written off.
If Shawn stays around it would be for one comeback match against DB where he'd play the heel leading up & then shake his hand afterward & leave as a face.

Please have the New Ages Outlaws as the Brisco/Patterson.
No idea why I want this so bad.

Didn't we already have a Corporate-aligned DX back in 2000 with the McMahon-Helmsley Regime?

Billy Gunn already showed his allegiance to the Authority by screwing over Sami Zayn in his match against Bo Dallas for the NXT. I'm pretty sure that Road Dogg and X-Pac are loyal to Hunter. Chyna.......well let's skip her.

"Daniel Bryan likes cocks!" And this would be why. I find late 90s DX more and more cringeworthy the older I get and anything I've seen from their two comeback runs makes me glad I wasn't watching regularly at the time.

Would there be a 2006 role reversal with Vince being the immature rule breaker?? Vince being crazy and not full corporate heel is always fun.

Honestly, even though they were too old to be doing it, I actually found the recent DX stuff to be funnier and less embarrassing than the 90s stuff. The 90s stuff clearly helped pop a rating in an era of crash TV, but it's really, really cringeworthy like you said, and the recent stuff while absolutely dumb kind of has a bit more of a real comedy element to it. I loved their shilling, and when Triple H accidentally showed Shawn video footage of him hitting Shawn with a sledgehammer.

It would really be taking the "Generation X" thing full circle, wouldn't it?
