FAN you have let me down, as a pop culture site I rely on you to keep me informed of the best new TV shows but you've ignored the greatness that is Orphan Black. The only reference I can find to the show around here is DSR stating that the main actress Tatiana Maslany should have at least been nominated for an Emmy for her fantastic performance(s), I didn't watch it back then but can now join in the outrage as she puts on an acting master class (the odd dodgy accent excluded).
So does anybody else watch it? Care to share your opinions and theories? Probably best to mark major plot points in spoilers so more people can enjoy the programme. Hell even discussing what the show is about could be considered a spoiler for the first episode or two which is why I'm rambling, I suppose I can say it's a Sci-Fi psychological thriller with a bit of black comedy thrown in for good measure.
Or is there some kind of inherent anti-Canadian Sci-Fi bias around here as Continuum isn't talked about much either, although to be that didn't become really good until midway through the second series so I can understand giving up on it before then.

I haven't re-watched Season 1, but I loved it when I watched it. As mentioned, Maslany is amazing. I sometimes forget it's one actress playing all those parts. And Matt Frewer is always welcome on my TV. I love that dude.
But yeah, it's a great show. I actually found it much more enjoyable than the season of Doctor Who that it basically accompanied.

Oddly enough, I first heard of this show due to a Raven vlog that was linked on the FAN forums. He raved about it and told people to check it out, but I didnt watch it until a friend had been begging me to give it a try for several weeks. I'm so glad I ending up caving in. Love the show! Maslany is seriously phenomenal, and I find myself unable to choose between Helena, Cosima, Alison, and Sarah when it comes to who I enjoy the most. Then there's Felix, who might be one of the most entertaining characters on TV. Great acting, great writing, and great opening season to a show that I'm really looking forward to following when it comes back for season 2.

Marathoned it over a week a few months back and I loved it. Season 2 can't come soon enough.

Hooray other people do watch it. I find myself unable to choose between Helena, Cosima, Alison, and Sarah when it comes to who I enjoy the most. Yeah at first I was drawn to Cosima but as the show went on Alison become my favourite, then Helena does something like the restaurant scene and I question my allegiances once again before realising I take Sarah for granted, it's impossible to choose between them.

Got up to Episode 6 so far. Even if Sarah says stuff English people don't say, Tatiana Maslany does an excellent job with all of her characters. Half the show is her acting with herself, and that takes proper skill.

Love the show and I thought about making a post about it during it's initial run but was busy. But let's not forget what a great ass Tatiana has

Saw a bit of this on Friday nights after the soccer. Looks awesome and the main chick is one of the hottest women I've ever seen. She was also on P&R recently too.

Season 2 is here and the premiere was awesome! Between that and finding out that BBC America has a show coming up with John Simm and James Frain, I am incredibly happy right now.

I just saw it & I agree, great episode! Tatiana Maslany continues to be awesome(her being easily one of the best looking women on tv is a bonus). Plus, the two twists {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} that the Prolethians, not the Dyad Institute, kidnapped Kira & best of all, that HELENA IS ALIVE! were good.

Oh my god, this show. This show, oh my god.
I'd heard about it being a great show and everything since season 1 was ongoing, but whatever reason I never felt inclined to tune in. After seeing the constant ads for season 2 (and admittedly developing a bit of a celeb crush on Maslany after her appearances on Parks and Rec), I decided to DVR the season 1 marathon over the weekend.
I'm in love with Orphan Black.
Honestly I get so sucked in sometimes that I almost forget that it's one person playing so many different roles. On top of that you've got Felix who is a total scene stealer, as well as Vic who can steal a scene himself.
It's just got so much intrigue that there's never a dull moment. There's always something going on to keep you invested in every scene. As for a favorite clone? I kind of love Alison. The scene where she maces Vic.... the potluck.... the fight with Aynsley. And whenever she and Felix team up, it's gold.
This is right up there with True Detective as a show I'm going to push super obnoxiously hard on my friends.

Tried to watch it when it first came on and soon realised it was one of 'those' shows where there has to be gratuitousness when it comes to sex, drugs and basically anything 'adult'. I am sure it's great and intelligent enough but if you can't get through the first episode without being 'in your face' about things like that then I just switch off and assume it's not worth my time. It's a shame but it's a major turnoff of mine so I won't be watching anymore.

I like looking at Tatiana Maslany and there's lots of her in different forms, so I like this show. Plus, I saw her butt in the first episode. *giggles*

I have heard so much about this show I am going to need to put some time aside to check it out. The first time I heard about it was when Tatiana Maslany has a great guest appearance on Parks and Rec as Toms girlfriend. I liked her once I saw her on that (it also helps that she is really cute).

If you're in the UK the first season is being shown in double-bills in the early hours all week so it's on the BBC iplayer. If I remember correctly only the first episode is gratuitous. That's not to say there's not any more "adult" elements but they're more relevant to the plot and themes of the show with the exception of some man-ass. It's certainly not like GoT, Strikeback, Spartacus, Misfits or other shows that are truly gratuitous but fair enough if e1 was enough to put you off as first impressions are important.

It's a shame but it's a major turnoff of mine so I won't be watching anymore. I recently watched all 11 episodes so far and the first one is quite misleading when it comes to that. The rest of the show has hardly any sex/nudity (some brief butt shots), and other stuff like violence aren't all that graphic either. Compared to other 'adult' shows this one is actually very tame.
