If he is revealed to be alive, I hope he walks out onto a stage in tears, goes to give a speech, and then Jerry Lawler runs out, piledrives him and then runs off into the distance cackling. WM31: Kaufman/Lawler 2: the rematch 30 years in the making!

Hopefully the fact that his name is still getting attention is enough to convince Vince to put him in the Hall of Fame. As for being alive, I don't think he is, I think his brother is either keeping the legacy alive, or fufilling a final wish from Andy.

Maybe his biggest prank was to make believe people he faked his death.

I believe Michael Jackson faking his death is a lot more likely than Andy Kaufman still being alive. Of course, we all could be wrong and stranger things have happened. However, if it was revealed he was alive it wouldn't be huge news, now if it was say Tupac, Michael Jackson, or Elvis then I think the news outlets would explode.

If he didn't show up in 2004 on the 20th anniversary of his death. He isn't going to. The man is dead, let him rest in peace. Maybe his biggest prank was to make believe people he faked his death. Yeah, I have a feeling Andy planned that part.

Yeah, I have a feeling Andy planned that part. Pretty much my thoughts on it. I am inclined to believe this is a giant prank meant as a tribute to Kaufmsn by his family and closest friends. With that said, I can also believe that tge woman in that picture is Kaufman's daughter. To paint a picture: Kaufman had a kid outside his marriage. His friends and family swear to secrecy to protect his image and the kids privacy. Years later the kid decides to pay tribute to her dad and gets Kaufman's brother to help her play one last prank on the audience.

With that said, I would also nit be amazed if Kaufmsn did have children by a woman other than his wife, and that he may have orchestrated this himself as a way for them to avoid the press and exposure if being a celebrities kids until they were grown and better able to handle it. He did a child when he was 16. They gave her up for adoption.

Yeah, I have a feeling Andy planned that part. Or 1999 which saw the release of both Bob Zmuda's book Andy Kaufman Revealed! and the Andy Kaufman biopic Man on The Moon. You're telling me some of that sweet Hollywood biopic cash isn't enough to bring a man out of hiding? Also pro wrestling was the hottest thing on cable TV with Raw doing monster numbers and with Jerry Lawler on the show he and Lawler easily could've picked up where they left off.

So, he hired an actress to play his daughter to create doubt.

I remember years ago someone hacked Yahoo and put a story up saying he was still alive.

I'm still waiting for an article:
"Andy Kaufman dies in tragic car accident en-route to reveal he had faked his death"

The fact that it turned out to be an actress, actually makes me believe it could be true, or just simply be a prank of someone he used to associate with.
When studying him, he would often do things for no rhyme or reason, just to mess with people. He had NBC have light static on his special, just to mess with the audience. He often would not tell people, who were in on his pranks, about the full prank, and rib them in the process.
