A-Rod is on WFAN and is basically pushing all chips to the center and daring Selig to prove him wrong.

Shots fired.
A-Rod just said for the first time, for the record, that he's completely innocent of any of the accusations brought forth by Bud Selig. Either he's completely lying off his ass and baseball is going to be completely justified in what they did. Or he's calling Selig's bluff and he's going to make that old fool look like a complete scumbag.

Man if you heard his lawyers talk about the farce of an appeals process players go through (and we've heard it from more than just A-Rod's lawyers), no wonder why the other players took 50 game suspensions even if they were entirely innocent. The system is set up in such a way that you never really get a fair chance. Baseball is Judge, Jury, and Executioner and if they think you're lying they can add more games to your suspension for shits and giggles, without even trying to get fair due process. I don't know how the MLBPA could've approved this during their CBA negotiations.

Chris Carpenter officially called it quits today. I know a lot of other Cards fans don't want to admit this, but sorry, he doesn't have HOF numbers, and his inability to stay healthy throws him out of the conversation. But they'd be fools to issue his #29 to anyone else.
Also, Taveras finally got called up to the 40 man roster. And I don't know what Jim Bowden is on, but I want some if he's arguing trading him for Jurickson Profar.

A Prince Fielder-for-Ian Kinsler trade is a "possibility," according to a source of CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Heyman just tweeted that the deal has been agreed too. Another player possibly going in the deal.
Whoa.

Can't believe the Tigers managed to unload an awful contract like that and get value back.

The rangers have to be getting like a sh** ton of cash back. Unless the prospect is Castellanos in the deal, the rangers got destroyed in this deal.

Damn, that happened right the hell out of nowhere. I'm glad we have that huge contract unloaded, but I'm still waiting to see who else is involved in the trade before I make more of a judgement.

For Red Sox fans, this trade is great because for all intents and purposes, it appeared as though Texas was going to be Boston's primary challenger on the market for the services of Mike Napoli. Now that Texas has their first baseman of the future, it eliminates a contender for Napoli. Now the Red Sox need to go out and get the deal done.

Prince could still DH with Napoli playing first if they wanted to pursue it. Also if they are looking at Corey Hart, that wouldn't be a bad replacement for Napoli, although I agree I would prefer Napoli back.
