The last new episode was in August, and the next one that's supposed to be on has an airing date of 'TBA'. I'm hoping CN didn't quietly cancel this like they did Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, because it's an awesome, awesome show. Anybody here anything at all? God I hope it's not cancelled.

Yeah, both it and Scooby Doo Mystery Inc finished their runs earlier this year.

But really, Bugs and Daffy and Co. were never supposed to be sitcomesque cartoon characters.

Insert obligatory "Looney Tunes Show cancelled in favor of more Johnny Test" jokes here.

Am I the only one who didn't care for this? I think trying to update the show with today's times was really jarring.

I'm really surprised because, the last time I read, it had really good numbers. I didn't think I'd like Looney Tunes characters in a sitcom, but damn it it worked really well, in my opinion.

Apparently it was only supposed to go for 52 episodes the way Batman: Brave And The Bold did, decent ratings aside. I guess I get it, but that didn't make me any less pissed. This show was my shit, yo.
I didn't mind the more measured pace of the slapstick, mostly because the character interaction worked so well. Plus it gave Lola a funny, fleshed out personality where she was allowed to be actually "looney", as opposed to the generic girl power figure she was in Space Jam.
Another thing I liked was that it showed Bugs looking vulnerable, and stuck in tough situations for a change. His usual wittyness and crossdressing was clear in a lot of episodes, but then there was brilliant stuff like the time he made up a lie in order to get out of a boring date with Porky, which wound up snowballing. I actually enjoyed Bugs more in TLTS than in a number of shorts where he's totally untouchable (srsly, at some points he makes Cena go "damn dude, show some weakness").

Based on what it was, it was mostly a good show. It could be unfunny at times, just like the old shorts, but when it was good it was really good.
The Looney Tunes characters were never absolute anyways, they had some personality traits, but their details always were fit into whatever the episode at the time called for, so I see no reason why they couldn't be tried as a sitcom characters. They fit most of their personalities well, and some of the changes were for the better (hello Lola and Marvin). Bugs being a straight man was actually a nice change of pace to me, he was a wiseguy but he wasn't invulnerable to the pratfall and I liked it more for that, and Daffy was hilarious.

The other thing that bugs me about no third season was that Pepe and Elmer never got any real episode focus to themselves the way everyone else did. Elmer's anchorman job especially lent itself to some good possibilities.

I wouldn't wish the 1960's/Cool Cat Looney Tunes era on my most hated enemies. TLTS easily jumps over that hurdle.
And over the Loonatics hurdle.
And over Back In Action.
And over the crappy compliation specials pieced together with flimsy plots.
And over the horrible propaganda shorts, which were offensive even for that era.
And over the old blackface gags.
And over Baby Looney Tunes (actually, that was cute and fairly decent, I wouldn't mind my nephew watching that).
Look, just check out "The Stud, The Nerd, The Average Joe And Saint". It's hilarious.

I dunno... I'd actually would rather watch Loonatics over the Looney Tunes Show. Or at least the second season of Loonatics, anyway. First season was pretty much "generic action show with Looney characters slapped onto it". But then again, at least it wasn't as boring as hell...

I liked the show. Didn't watch it religiously, but I do plan on watching every episode now that it's done. I loved Daffy, and I liked seeing Bugs as a straight man. It would have been nice if it lasted longer, but of its purpose was to get them familiar with new audiences. To that extent, I think they succeeded.
I'm sure there will be another Looney Tunes series in the near future.

At least it outlasted Loonatics. I never watched it...weren't Bugs and Daffy supposed to be a little Ho Yay (or whatever the trope's name is) on it???
