Here's a list of accomplishments: - Won the Royal Rumble - Had a match of the year candidate with CM Punk - Main evented WrestleMania and beat The Rock, giving The Rock his first pinfall loss since 2003 - Held the WWE Championship for 4 and a half months - Held the World Heavyweight Championship for (approximately) 2 months at least - MAY unify the World and WWE Championships in a couple of weeks - Various good matches throughout the year with Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Ryback, Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio, and others.
-----------------
Given all of these accomplishments, please give me a legitimate argument in which case this man should not be considered the Superstar of the Year.

Because The Shield should win it, they've been the in ring MVPs of the WWE this year.

Because The Shield should win it, they've been the in ring MVPs of the WWE this year. There could be many worthy winners, but it's all either a popularity contest or a plot device in the end, so it's going to either Cena, Bryan or Orton. Likely Cena.

I know, and I've got no problem with Cena or D-Bry winning it, but like I said The Shield have been the in ring MVPs of the year. They've brought it every match (like Cena and D-Bry do), but when looking at MOTY contenders The Shield pops up in most, and it's usually because of their matches on Raw.

Quality of matches don't matter in kayfabe awards. Win-loss records, titles and accomplishments do. It's Cena or Bryan. Orton won't win a fan vote.
Though The Shield have had an awesome year in those categories too and likely deserve a nomination at least. Oh well, they already won Rookie of the Year tonight.

Bryan should win it, because he beat the guy whose accomplishments you just listed clean as a sheet.
Cena will probably win though.

This would be a year where Cena actually deserves to win it, unlike last year where it clearly should have been Punk.

This would be a year where Cena actually deserves to win it, unlike last year where it clearly should have been Punk. The only reason Cena won the award over Punk last year is because it was fan voted, and Punk was a heel at the time of last year's Slammys. If there are six guys nominated, like usual, I'm thinking they will be Cena, Punk, Bryan, Orton, Del Rio, and, if WWE are willing to nominate a stable for the award, The Shield. If not, Show, Henry, Ryback and Lesnar seem like top contenders for the sixth slot.

Cena should. He's accomplished the most. I'm not a fan of the character, but you'd have to be blind to not think his vast sea of in-ring trophies this year puts him on top. Last year, however? That was an abomination.

1) The Shield 2) John Cena 3) Daniel Bryan 4) CM Punk 5) Randy Orton
6) Alberto Del Rio
That's roughly the order of my hopeful winners from most to least.

Not winning Superstar of the Year will cause Del Rio to be even more aggressive!
